There is a duck in my window. He’s smiling but is making me feel awkard. Then, I realize ducks can’t smile, do they? Is he really a duck? Am I loosing my mind? I better go get ready for school.
I ducked under the table just as another bullet came rushing past my head.
“Lily!” I cried. “You still there?”
“I’m here!” She screamed back. “But what the hell is going on?!”

In the horizon, the sun is starting to peak out. By the water you can see the mother duck and her ducklings gently playing in the water. With the warm of the bright sun, they ducks all quack as one and swim in the clear and calm waters. They swim over to any that will provide food.
I like ducks. There beautiful yellow color, the color of happiness, the color of warmth. There adorable bodies, with waddling feet and puffy tails. I love ducks.

And then three… and eventually the daddy duck quacks for them and they all come back. I’ve always been a little bothered that daddy could make them come back but mom couldn’t.
“Duck under the table!” And so I did. I hid from the strangers dressed in long deep blue robes and black shoes. This was the last time I would see my mother’s face, and spent the majority of time trying to see the faces of these strangers. Their hooded faces would be the most vivid thing I remembered from that night.

What i think duck is a bird who swims in lakes and flies south for the winter. Also its white or light brown.
