when i think of elastic, i think of hairbands. it’s super annoying when you have a hairband that the fabric part comes off and you have the elastic hanging out. it pulls on your hair and hurts really bad, i don’t like it at all. it always pulls out billions and billions of hairs and then you think “damn. i must be bald now.”
Elastic love is a beautiful, intrinsic thing. It is rare. It is something that is versatile, accepting, flexible, but accepting none the less. It is love in its purest, most accepting form; love that never breaks.
It expands far throught out the room seeking an answer, it hopes to grasps something, but just likes that it comes back and with its elasticity wraps around you, this feeling is love wrapping around you.
You and I are connected, as if by a rubber band. When we’re far apart, the connection stretches to accommodate, and snaps right back when we come together. I wonder though, when the weeks apart drag on…how much stretching can this bond take?

Normally I would snap back
But I’ve been
Stretched out
Worn out
Over the years
Pain has caused me to
Loss all the elastic in my life
