There was a sadness in the entire room, it stretched from one side of the room to the other, he could even feel it pulling at his fingertips and eyelashes.
rubberbands. bouncing back. having the courage to bounce back when you are scared or down. i did that a lot in life. I guess you could say i have an elastic personality. that sounds stupid. But not really.
Elastic. More people should be such a way. I’ve learned that rigidity is such a confining and crippling trait to possess. If only I were more elastic… more maleable… more free-flowing. Oh the things I would learn, the happier I’d be. We’re so set on things being a certain way that we never stop to consider the prison we’re buiding for ourselves within the confines of our own expectations and determination to stick with such “ideals”. Elastic.. yes.. I will be.
Elastic reminds me of my childhood. Everything was “Elastic”. Elastic hair ties, Elastic bracelets, elastic necklaces, heck, there were even elastic shoelaces. Ahhh, simpler times.
Flexible, easy to move, fun to play with: all the characteristics of my favorite gooey kid’s toy, silly putty. It was just so funny to watch it mold and create, pressing it with my fingers and feeling it collapse under the pressure. It was fun to make it into jewelry too, though it was too pink for my tastes to wear.
its lovely jubbbly yummy gooey , it stretches it bounces its just like my tummy.
I love to play with the elastic band and it twangs, it twangs i can play guitar in a band.
Its so nice to see that elastic can be just as wonderful and beautiful like me.
Elastic.Like a rubber band. It’s pretty undependable if you ask me. It breaks if you pull it too much and it won’t stand the test of time. Elastic. It breaks. It’s fragile. Much like people. But it’s not all bad. It can hold your hair up or entertain your dog like cat, Like people it breaks and stretches but it is still helpful. :P
you spring back, into my mind
even when i try to push you away.
the more i pull from you
the more tension builds
the faster the reunion
the sharper the snap
the deeper the pain
flexible but yet strong. got distracted but i was flexible like elastic. it works out and rhymes with plastic but it is still just as fantastic. I don’t know what else to say other than have a great day, and try to enjoy your your word of the day.
there’s plenty of elastic in my ballet tights. they fit me perfectly, as well they should. they’re convertible, so they can pull up over my ankles and i can do whatever i want in them. they make me want to dance, and so i do.
underwear is like glue. it holds your life together. no one ever wants there junk to be just out in the middle of everything. it holds everything nice and tight and keeps humans sain. you never know when you will run out of them but it is always an adventure to buy more!
I need to remember to be elastic in my thinking and not be strict in my reactions to life’s happenings. I want to be a flexible person, and bend, but not break when things get a little stormy.
I think wearing elastic pants and skits can help the way you look on days when you are blotted or gained extra pounds doesn’t look bad and easy to care for…
watch out fer yer granny’s drawers
she leaves them hangin on tha line
ye run unda them, get yersel caugh
th’elaccys loose, yull run a mile wi’out i comin off tha liyne
elastic is tricky. like a soul, it is thick or thin. it can be broken, and rebuilt. elastic is what keeps many articles of clothing on our bodies. a soul is what keeps our hearts and minds in ourselves.
eww. gross. reminds me 4 some reason of men in spandex. or speedos. or leotards. either way, ICCCKKK!!!!!!! also reminds me of disney movies <3 (bcuz of elastagirl from the incredibles!).
Stretchy and used to make old women’d underwear and waistlines. For some reason I always imagine that it smells really bad. Makes me thing of yellowy/orange rubber bands and when I was at primary school the boys used to flick the off rulers at people which was actually really stupid but at the time seemed really cool and I could never do it – it drove me MAD!
elastic . .i wish i was that to-day. i’m all out of sorts . .bending and stretching to get book after book . . .you know, i wish the world were elastic, and i could use it to go where i wanted to go that much faster . . . .elastic . . .the smell of rubber, the feel of overreaching, the time of knowing it could be forever.
stretchy stuff thats super fun to play with and such and then it hits you in the face and your like “OW” and scream and cuss at the person who threw the thing at you because it really hurt. so YEAH.
elastic. stretchy stuff, I’m think of stretchy pants………… elasta girl from the incredibles! Edna mode. elastic elasticity, i remember ms. jurney from arlington, she taught me so much about our bodies. Oh it was a protein! Umm…. Elagon? colagen? can’t remember…
A rubber band sure is interesting, no? I mean, think about it. It stretches like nothing else, really. Sure, I suppose a ball of goo does, but that doesn’t snap back, doe sit? Nope, didn’t think so. It’s cause of that darn elasticity of a rubber band that makes it so unlike anything else.
Karla pulled and tugged at her face in the mirror. Her skin once flush and glowing was now exposing her past love of the sun and outdoors. Her smile flooded her face with wrinkles and worry burned lined into her forehead.
well well well …sometimes i feel like i am made out of elastic the way that i can stretch in different ways i do it to my sefl and always hope that i can make it back to my own form and someday i feat that i will stretch so far that i will not be able to get back into shape i want to love you.
The words were new and unfamiliar to me as they left her lips and somehow made their way to my ears, and from there my mind had to rather stretch to fit itself around them, like a sheet of elastic covering some foreign form.
it holds your hair strands so you can do yoga. They are convenient and stretchy. You can get them really cheap at the drug store. They are barely noticed most of the time and considered replaceable. But if your elastic breaks during a yoga class… it really, really sucks. You learn to LOVE and cherish your elastic bands.
boys are like elastic bands. as soon as you let go, they come running back. the word ‘elastic’ is pretty. i like saying it. elastic. such a mellow sound. flexible yet tight and solid.
Garter belts, Bras, and rubber bands are all quite fantastic,
If you snap one, your sure to get a slap,
But as long as it is not the clap,
Thank God for elastic.
Its stretchy; kind of like life. Flexible in all ways. Reaching out to others and yet taking care of itself. It holds everything together, and snaps under pressure. We have to take care (of our self and others) so we don’t break too; just like an elastic.
life stretches all the way, until the horizon, until the back of your mind.
it covers up all those little pieces you think you left behind,
but the unconscious is far more elastic than what you’d think.
it would surprise you to know how little you understand about yourself.
The elastic stretches so far out you would swear it would have to break and yet it just keeps going ang going like the energizer bunny. Elastic will stretch and come back until you really need it then it wears out and will no longer work.
When I think about this I start to laugh because I think of the times in elementary school when we would flick them at each other behind the teacher’s back. Or when I would wake up Sunday morning and find one wrapped around a newspaper. Or how elastics get stuck in my hair
There was a sadness in the entire room, it stretched from one side of the room to the other, he could even feel it pulling at his fingertips and eyelashes.
