I can’t write about this damn word anymore. There is nothing to say about it. I have had it four different times and I just don’t know what to say. I also am afraid of who will read this so I don’t want to sound dumb, even though I know that I already do.
Okay, figure, I have twenty seconds. The first thing I think of is “the perfect figure” that every one wants. The body of a model; the body of a superstar; the body that isn’t theirs. Some people just can’t let go of it.

I figure if I can just start writing, I can figure out what to do with my life. Working at an accounting firm was never the proper job for me. I hate working with numbers and figures. So it’s a good thing I got fired – go figure.

The shadow that has taken me from the place I belonged- In his arms. His crystal blue eyes, singing into the voice in my chest as if I had a voice to offer. No, I cannot sing well. I cannot write well. But I will fallow the figure, the shadow, untill he smiles into the crevices of my chest.

I figured there probably wasn’t any sense in denying the attraction for even a minute longer. It was so obvious. It had to be obvious to him. He had to have figured it out by now…there was nothing I could do to hide it.

I see a figure. A girl. Late twenties, maybe early thirties. She looks…sad. Sullen. Depressed maybe? As if she’s lost a loved one. I might console her, but I don’t know if I’ll help much. I’ve never been good at stuff like that. She’s coming closer. Towards me, it seems. I’m afraid now. I don’t know why. ho

i figure i could do better but i never tried, never once decided to act. figure what a funny word, i figured out the missing piece of the puzzle and it was me i was left out, rolled under the couch, forgotten. go figure it was all my fault.

i like to figure out all that i can know. knowledge lets you see how life truly is and life is knowledge. if i can figure out what i need and want, and take the time to respond to those needs instead of reacting to them, then i can understand them and truly be myself. take the time to think and breathe. if you do not figure it out initially, the answer will find you. where is a woman who can figure me out…

People have figure , things are figures. I figure figures are pretty inportant . Thats why this is a word that i am writing about. my words are firgures. the number 8 is one of the best figures.

I figure I should have seen it coming. The look on your face. The faint way she would smile whenever you were around. The way you two hid from me, from everyone. I should have seen it coming, but I felt blindsided when I saw you holding her hand. So brazenly. So proud. So in love. I fel

i figure something great will come out of writing about this. a figure of imagination that msut never leave ourselves or decided to vanish; something we have to always remember. nothing should stop us and we must think of ourselves as a figure and the figures we make in this life. as well as the figures around us, we have an effect on every figure in the world, no matter how far away. there is no way we aren’t figuratively connected.
By millie on 03.16.2011
People figure so much about the world. I suppose they have to do so. Though they’re nearly always wrong, they need to do something. It gives them a feeling of entitlement and usefulness.
By Sybart on 03.16.2011
Figure can mean anything. A dark, shadowy figure in the distance. Figuring out a new solution. A brand new action figure. Figure.
By Kile on 03.16.2011
figure. hmm. probably most people are gonna mention figures as in women figures and they’re bodies or something like that but i am reminded of geometry. figures as in circles and squares and triangles and the fact that i haven’t done my homework yet. it is the sillouhette! i wish i could spell that!

sometimes you figure things will work out a certain way but then they don’t. then you figure out most things never work out the way you’d hoped them to. finally, you figure who cares? life is short and you might as well just enjoy the ride instead of spending all of your time planning the way things will play themselves out.

theres a figure standing in the doorway. it doesnt speak. it doesnt move. it simply waits. waits for life to be blown into it, for happiness and joy and laughter and love. the figure stands with its black emptyy

the figure stood motionless in the distance. i tried to make it out but before i knew it, it had vanished into the dark.

When I see the word figure, several things come to mind. A figure of speech, a figure for observation, or just a six letter word. Specifically speaking as an artist, I will choose to think of figure as something I observe. And paint.

He sat, looking at the page but could not figure out what to write. Had his muse left him he wondered as he sipped his cold, black coffee. Would he ever be able to finish this story that he was weaving or would it fall and unravel like a ball of twine?
By Chris on 03.16.2011
I figured out that people in florida think that 60 is cold… hhaha people in minnesota think that below zero is cold…, its like a whole different world here its almost hard to believe, its a nice change though! :) I love the weather here, great tanning!!!!!!!

Her figure lay still amongst the white washed blankets. Her beautiful ebony hair splayed over the pillows. Her cheeks were flushed and wet with tears. “I am beautiful, but I cannot love.”
By Charlotte URL on 03.16.2011
That what I see and cannot discribe. The lines, the curves, the shape, the space all that is and is not. Beauty? Maybe, but then again it might not be that easy to discribe. Pure intrigue, the disire to understand and be a little closer to.

Figuratively for the purpose of this exercise I suppose you could say i was asking for it. I don’t think i was i just sat back and let what comes… well come. maybe that was my first mistake that led to my impending fate.

The figure of Moses could perhaps be Jesus. Of Valene? On c’est pas. He seems legit thought. He’s a figure of God–he owns the apartment complex so hard. Welcome to his life. Something is happening and you know you gotta whatta find out what it is. Don’t you, Mrs. Jones?

lets see what happens here when the time is up, I’m not sure but I probably wont commit to this until I know its cool. I’ll probably send it to my brother Thomas when I’m done, but only if its interesting enough to keep mine and his attention. Figure umm it has many connotations, body type, numbers, thought processes

go figure – who says that? well I do – all of the time – what do you know?
right now – I don’t know much of anything – Im sitting here – trying to figure out what to do with my life – to figure out how I got here – to this place – not THIS place but this place – trying to figure out how I walk the same circle over and over and dont recognize it until I am in the same worn spot – it always looks like a new circle – but its not – its the same old circle – with the same prints worn around it that match my feet, my heart, my smiles and my tears – same old circle – go figure.

Heh, I got nothing. I can figure out something I suppose, but nothing good. I can go do some yoga and while that might benefit my figure, it won’t do a thing to help out this story. Sometimes, I wish I had a set of instructions to writing these stories. You know, “See Figure 1. Now put tab A into Slot B.” But mostly I reckon, I just have to keep writing and hope that whatever comes out means something to someone.

There’s a sense of time, when you really understand it. A phrase, a form, a toy. Everyone has one, round or flat. The perfect is elusive.

The figure of a woman is a loaded subject. You could be talking about her physical structure or her character structure. A woman could have a full figure in both figures or a frail figure. I have known a frail woman who has the strength inside of ten men. She could survive more emotional stress than most women. And there are some full figured women who cannot handle stress that is why they end up full figured. So

the figure in the distance was slowly approaching and in the pit of my stomach I wanted to turn and run away, but the curiosity was overwhelming..gluing my feet to the floor. “Don’t move” it said to me quietly, probably sensing my desperate want to turn and sprint away.
