  7. He had come this way, I was sure of it. his scent filled the night air. Suddenly with the light night breeze, I felt the throbbing of the blood beneath my skin. The a whiff of blood in the small gusts filled my nostrils and made my mouth water. I smiled, my fangs gleaming in the moonlight as my gaze followed the scent. There trapped on the edge of the fence was a piece of blue and green flannel, semi soaked with his blood. Little did he know that was all I needed, this monster was soon to be mine. I’d teach him a thing or too about catching your prey, except mine were never innocent.

  8. Flannels are interesting. I use one to wash my face because it’s important to not get blackheads and stuff. Unfortunately, I lost my flannel the other day and now have to buy a new one. I wonder if they have one at Boots. Then again, I probably won’t be able to go for a few days because I’m so busy.

  10. It was just a little piece of it, sitting there in the sunlight for everyone to see. She started sweating immediately, knowing this would be the end of it. The end of everything. Finally.

But when Joseph turned right at the moment when he would be best inclined to see that little piece of flannel that would give everything away, the sun shone directly in his eyes, causing him to duck his head and laugh. And just like that, the moment was over.

  11. Flannel, little squares of symmetrical lines flowing up and down a shirt, dress, tie, or many other things. It gives a feeling of hard work, comfort, roughness, and stability.

  14. I saw him wearing a flannel shirt in 90 degree weather. It was quite disturbing given that he wasn’t even sweating, or maybe the shirt was absorbing it. Who knows, but surely odd.

  17. I have no idea what a flannel is. It sounds like it could be a piece of clothing. It also sounds like it could be part of a ship. It seems like it would have a very complicated purpose. I really have no idea, but I can guess.

and instead of being transformed into a farmer,
    or a hick,
    or someone I was not,
I found that the shirt fit,
    and I was comfortable.
    Clothes don’t make the man.
So don’t judge yourself or others.

I like the feel of it.

Maybe even this weekend when my parents and grandparents are here.
Flannel = winter weather. Flannel = me.

  21. I lived in flannel in the early to mid 90s. I went to college in upstate NY and my closet was full of flannel shirts. It was the grunge era. Flannel and denim were the required uniform…I miss it now, sometimes.

  22. I already did flannel.
Why do I have to do flannel again?
I thought this would be a fun little exercise but now I’m exasperated.

  23. I was wearing my flannel schmanel the day I went for the walk that did me in. It was a cold day and I didn’t want to freeze my nipples so I figured it was the best choice.
What a time for it to get caught between the doors of a subway train.

    by Bort on 10.12.2010
  24. ok, right, it’s a piece of cloth. It’s also quite a symmetrical looking word. Erm, you use it to wipe your face. I always picture the colours blue and pink? Which is OK, ’cause those colours are lovely and whatnot. Also, i don’t know what else to write.

  25. He always wore flannel
    and smirked
    but only at odd moments,
otherwise, he held his head up
    watching, listening,
you always knew he was there,
but he never said a word.

  26. The pattern was always the same with us. I watched your bare back while you pulled your shirt on. Always your back, you always left. Or maybe I was the one keeping you at a distance, I wasn’t sure. But it was our crossing paths, a shared moment. Moments that were short at logical intervals, but hot. Flannel always is, sometimes I wish we could be the threads weaved together instead. I watched your smiling eyes and laughed, “Lets interweave.”

    a warm shirt

  32. I’ve been seeing a trend of this. I’ve been at many a party where every male is wearing at least one article of clothing with this pattern.

  33. flannel flannel flannel. I dont even know what to talk about flannel only that its hot and I wouldn’t wear it all that much.

  34. Flannel has been superceded by fleece.

And yet, I don’t think the Grunge movement would have gone anywhere if everyone had been wearing Slankets.

Not that Slankets existed back then, mind you. But it would have been a much sweatier revolution.

  35. He tossed on the flannel jacket hanging from the hook next to the door, grabbed his axe, and began stepping out the door when a sudden wave of nostalgia struck him. He turned back and looked at the hook again, running his hands over its cold brass and thinking of when he had nailed the metal fixture into the wall, with the fireplace blazing happily behind him as his family chatted into the night. Shaking his head, he shoved the door open and stepped into the chilly autumn evening.

  38. I like how flannel feels on my skin. It’s nice because I’m fat and it doesn’t chafe my thighs. It also reminds me of christmas for some reason. It’s a lot better than that gay ass silk shit.

    by Joe on 10.12.2010
  39. If I were a lumberjack, I’d wear flannel every day
I’d wear flannel with my flannel, ’cause that’s the way we play
my belt buckle is a moose head, cactus spikes my spurs
    and I’d strut them proudly, ignoring all the slurs;
’cause I’m a hundred feet tall, with a beard on my chin
and my flannel makes me happy, ’cause it warms me from within.

  40. This word makes me smile. Simply because it brings to mind his plaid red flannel shirt. The one he always lets me wear when I get chilly. The one that makes me feel warm (with love, and warmth) in the winter air.
