The woman drew the cigarette away from her lips, its tiny red flare burning a distress signal into the darkening twilight, and exhaled a thick curtain of smog.
Her left hand was locked around a bottle of beer, fingers anxiously tapping against the cold glass. He was late, just as the others had been, and she had given up.
Maybe its better this way, she thought bitterly, taking another vengeful gulp of alcohol. I’m not ready for love.
But even as the numbing fire crawled up through her ribs, she knew it was a lie.

Everybody has their flare. Some people have loud flare and some people’s are quiet. Some are easy to see and others you can’t find. Some flares might be bright yellow and purple polka-dotted with glitter down the sides. Some flares could be baby blue with buttons on the border. No matter what, flare is flare. You can see my shimmery outside flare, I meant to catch your eye. But can you see my inside flare?

i have my own individual flare. my own style, my own way, be it the way i walk, the sound of my laugh, the way I squint my eyes when I’m confused. I am me. Unique and Individual.

I sat in the cave wondering whether or not i wanted to shoot my last flare in hopes of being rescued. I put the flare into my gun and was going to pull the trigger as my last hoppes in being rescued, as i put my finger on the trigger i recognized in the distance the sound of a helicopter. I pulled the trigger knowing instantly i was going to be saved.
I stood outside, shaking, staring at it in wide-eyed horror. Everything was being swallowed by the flame. The giant, unstoppable flame, roaring and whipping about and swaying in the wind. Everything I owned was inside that house.
I saw the flames in my room. Nothing was the same anymore.
Flare is something that inspires people, or is it a thought, or maybe it’s a feeling we get deep down when we truelly believe in something. Who knows really what flare is. I for one believe Flare is the base for all great creations.

i was laying awake in my room, when I saw it. that single flare that set everything into a downward sprial. I rushed from my room, away from the flare to see if my family was okay. They were gone, leaving me alone, cornered in the living room facing the flare. They left me here, to die.
Flares are awesome. Anything that has to do fire is awesome. Unless it’s burning your house down or if you breath in the smoke. But flares are kinda like fireworks.
