this is dedicated to the only person that means anything to me in my pathetic shit of a life, mr. daniel james arntz. you make my heart flutter like i’ve just discovered an entire drawer of uneaten sauasage at four in the morning. thank you for your existence! i enjoy you more than sausage.
crushed butterfly wings. I saw them on the pavement yesterday. Leaves rustle in the wind. My spirit is light. How I long to fan out my wings and flap and flutter into infinity. Bring me light, bring me joy. Bring me ease of heart so that I can fly.
I feel the wings of the flutterby gently brushing against my hari. I sigh. How long it has been since I have felt even the smallest of sensations. Too long in that place. That place without life. Without emotion. Without anything.
her eyes fluttered beside mine today as we held each other over the center console at every red light. the sun backlit her proud profile, our silence complemented by the heartbroken, folksy album playing.
the butterfly’s wings can flutter
interestingly enough, when something flutters, we see less of it and more of its flutter
One’s eyelashes can flutter as well

Many things in nature flutter
along came a butterfly who had no wings
with no cocoon, just a mirror
it realized that it was just at caterpillar
and it fluttered inside with a sense of pride.
butterfly, wings, something flying, something magical, something beautiful, a noise you hear, flutter butter, what a butterfly sounds like, the wind in your ear, hair,
the wings spread, while the head started looking up. it was spitting without even motivating, thats when i took off my pants and it started flutttering away, gone forever.
Flutter is a word I use a lot. Perhaps I am using it too often. I struggle to find different words that describe the batting of one’s eye-lids. I always stick to the metaphor of ‘fluttering one’s eye-lashes like the wings of a lost butterfly’ to emphasise one’s confusion. Perhaps I’ll find a substitute soon.
butterflies flutter about. it makes one wonder about the innocence of other life on earth and how they suffer from our selfish escapades. we seem to do everything guilt free and all they want to do is survive. we want to thrive. we give in the greed. the butterfly is content being able to fly and eat and reproduce. it is a wonderful creature.
LIke what a butterfly does. IN fact… the word “flutter” itself is acoustically quite similar to the word “butterfly” I like butterflys. I like the way they just flutter by. hehehe. I like bread and butterflies too. THey were in Alice in Wonderland. THe word flutter just sounds cool tbh. Flutter. Flutter. Flutter. I wish I could flutter. Then there’s that thing where you flutter your eyelashes…
Flutter, flutter… Nah, can’t really think of anything. Well, one of my friends said ‘flutterby’ the other day. Does that count? It was very annoying. I really hate all the cutesie stuff people do. Ah well.
the rain flutters – can rain flutter? Maybe it merely should be fluttering butterflies – or, if it has to be about something falling from the sky, snow. Fluttering snowflakes.
flutter like a butterfly all through the sky. thats a really awkward poem. why should i write about fluttering. its like the bourrees of a dancer playing a sylph… or something.
the wings beat in time with the world you spin me around and we lose ourselves the things around us become nothingness a flutter of a moment lost in thought we are beyond and we can be more and less and everything all at once.
She fluttered, uselessly as she waited. It was dark and grey outside and she wanted, no needed. She needed to get away and be far away from everyone and everything. They didn’t know her, they couldn’t see her past the beauty of her face and unease in her mind.
My heart began to flutter as she took my hand, a coronary butterfly about to go into major palpitations. I didn’t know what to do, what to say, but what I did know is that I had never, in all my years of life, been nearly this happy. Never had my heart fluttered like this before; never had I felt anything even close to comparing the indelible joy that I was feeling.
Butterflies do this. You get this feeling in your stomach when you see someone you like. This Word makes me think of ballerinas gong across the stage in the Nutcracker. Elegance –
fluttering is sometimes described as flapping like butterfly wings. Sometimes people say ‘my heart’s all a-flutter’ meaning you’re excited and a little happy about something, usually someone you emotionally fancy. This phrase is not to be confused with ‘butterflies in the stomach’ as that is a more negative emotion.
she sent his heart aflutter she did. in ways no one would ever believe. if he recounted them to his mates, they would roll over in fits of laughter and he would just get embarrassed and clam up about it. but it was true. deep down he loved her. loved her loved her but does she love you? does she? nobody knows cos she’s a fleeting soul. a woman of mystery so you’ll never know.
A butterfly’s wings, grasping air to achieve flight. Promenading from flower to flower in search of life-giving nectar. Bees floating past; flies, beetles, wasps, all on the same sojourn. Not interacting, glancing at each other from afar. Strangers on the same mission.
A small flutter – a sign of a response, a warning to be careful. His eyes met mine, I peeked then looked away. Not now. Not today. I am not ready for this. I have covered my pain with a blanket of solitude. Spring awakening

Hearts all aflutter, fairy wings in the rain. Mascara on eyelashes and butterflies in pain.

It seems so cliche and tired to say that my heart flutters when I see you, but it’s true. I didn’t expect that. I never expected that.
I wonder if it is the same for you.
