Someone told me that you’re going to a new outer space galaxy for your study abroad program.
Am I the only one concerned about the feasibility of this idea?
Well, am I?
Nah, it’s something cool, everyone else said. The one girl with the pretty smile laughed; don’t you know when something cool and new appears, you just gotta roll with it?

I wish I had a bunch of stars in my pocket. To sprinkle about on the ground as I walked. Leaving a hansel and gretle trail for friends to follow. Not sure where I want the trail to lead. Just like the idea of a glittering night path in the forest.

there was a whole galaxy of people in the room. by this i mean everyone was from everywhere and most of them had nothing to do with each other – just an infinite room of possibilities. that’s why i don’t understand why i met her, or why it worked. it happened before i could stop to think about it. i found her in a galaxy.

I’ve always wanted to go into space and wondered what would happen if I got sucked into another galaxy or something. No one here would ever know what happened to me. Is there another complete universe out there somewhere? Just like us? Out of our galaxy, is there another just waiting to be discovered?
By Kelsey on 04.02.2011
Galaxy: it’s the entire universe. It’s an open space that’s big enough to swallow you whole. Where I get lost inside of myself and where my deepest thoughts come alive. That’s what the galaxy is. Open, dark, mysterious, eternal.

I took an astronomy class my freshmen year of college. Lab science. 5 credits. I know.. what was I thinking? No, here’s what I was thinking. I was thinking that I was a tough, smart freshmen who could handle a 5 credit lab science class. Well, I couldn’t. The only thing I learned was that sometimes I just have to accept that I may not yet be the best or the smartest I can be.
Far and beyond, wide and vast. Amazing, never ending.

Long ago in a galaxy far away.. but then anyone who stops to think about it, does distance exist? What is empty space? Nothing. The amount of nothing between here and there, between me and you, if nothing doesn’t exist, then how can distance? These questions are not real, they are only an attempt to think farther when in truth they can be answered with a heavy hand.

Galaxy, galaxy, galaxy. He was floating, floating, floating. Flying through eternity, it felt like. Almost. He knew, though it stayed in the back of his mind, that it wouldn’t last forever. That this galaxy, this endless, starry glaxy would end. He could feel it in his bones, that the end was coming. And here, here it came.

Fuck the galaxy. I want to write about trees. They are tall, and I can actually fucking understand trees. They’re chill, unlike the fucking galaxy.

In a galaxy far far away there are people who like to eat purple gum drops that are made out of smores. Loving there smore-like gum drops, they continue their days by pooping in cans, and texting? iDunno, this is really fun, galaxy’s far far away where starwars takes place

A place far beyond anything we could possibly imagine. Something so far off holding all of our hopes and dreams of exploration and discovery. It is impossible and ridiculous to think in this vast universe that we are the only ones in it, some day, we’ll all meet.

We exploded into the sky and soon we were surrounded by glowing green and blues in the darkness. A warms over came our bodies as we trailed into the galaxy. We looked into each others eyes and I swear from that moment that we were infinite.

Once upon a time, in a GALAXY far far away, an alien named Greg Freadmin decided to explore how fast he could run. As he ran, he felt a blast of cool air and realized he had entered a room full of strange creatures, although he still hadn’t moved from where he started running. He then realized he had entered an alternate galaxy where there wasn’t any french fries.

There was another galaxy. A different time period. At which she could control when to go there and when to return back to earth. At any moment in time, she could poof. Disappear in thin air and appear in this different galaxy. Which was a hundred years farther into technology and time than Planet Earth. She could do anything she wanted. This whole different universe, different galaxy, was her escape plan. When she needed to go, she would leave Earth.

The galaxy scares me. Space in general scares me. Thinking about how small we are makes me feel panicked. We are so unimportant. Everything we do is unimportant. It makes me feel like I shouldn’t stress so much about school because in the grand scheme of things, if I don’t do well on this essay, does it really matter?
By platypus URL on 04.02.2011
it makes us realize how small we are and how petty lots of things are. We are not a galaxy, we are a planet within the solar system within the milky way within the universe. And that’s just the earth, which from our point of view, is pretty darn big.

The starts, the moon, everything. Our existence. Our galaxy is very beautiful, it is who we are. The great wide world above us. Consuming us.

I often wonder where I fit in the universe. Just one galaxy is huge and I am so small. All I know is my consciousness. What is it all about really.

The galaxy has such an endless number of possibilities. It’s kind of like the flavours of Yoplait yogurt in grocery stores…or kinds of poutine at the lounge here in my new hometown. Damn I love food…it was the basis of my last entry on here too.

Stars and space. How and why we were created and where we thrive and exist. I always wonder how we live in something soo big such as a galaxy yet we are just a mere speck of dust amongst the celestial bodies

what a big freakin place right???
so vast – seemingly without structure, without order
because there are no walls, not boundary we see – it can appear confused and unplanned
like a dinner party with plates and food stroon about a table with no plan on how they will be received.
If I were attending a galaxy party – I would look around – not a star out of place – not a planet rotating at the wrong speed –
the sun is exactly where it is supposed to be
if one – just one element of out galaxy were to stray off course – the effect would be catastrophic – yet it happenes every day
new stars bloom –
new planets form –
new solar systems evolve
and life goes on
if I were to look at my life as the galaxy is truly is
and see the upsets as shooting stars as opposed to fallen ones
and know that all of what is – is supposed to be
without the falls
without the stars
my galaxy would be dark –
I thank God for my fallen stars

The spaceship hurtled towards the comet faster than the speed of light. Impossible?
Yes. But there it was. The all-encompassing blackness of the anti-gravity that Mankind called “outer space” swallowed up the futuristic vehicle, carrying precious lives of some of the last humans on Earth.

The galaxy really makes me wonder about life. What is out there? How was it created? Who made it? Don’t you ever just stop and wonder about that? I do. All the time. I find it one of the most beautiful things ever as-well. It truly is a mystery how the galaxy came to be.
By Sophie on 04.02.2011
There are thousands of stars in this. And there are millions of miles it surrounds. There are several planets in it. And colorful gases exist throughout it. There are also endless amounts of planets.

it’s big. so big it makes me feel insignificant. but at the same time hopeful. if there is only one guy out there for me in the entire galaxy at least there’s alot to choose from. i may not have met him yet but he’s out there some where. some where between the milky way and my house. i’d travel all over to find him. waiting is just too useless.

there is a huge galaxy out there waiting to be explored. I wish i could go out there and just learn. Learn about life, learn about the world, about other universes. I wish i could just escape and go to another galaxy. Create a new life and create a new world. I’m scared of what ill become here, I’m scared ill never make my dreams come true.

The galaxy. It’s so beautiful. I wish I could just look up into the sky and see a giant nebula staring back down at me. I also can’t help but wonder what’s out there and how it got out there.

The galaxy seemed to be in tune while she lay there with her beautiful girlfriend. The two girls were a tangled mess of limbs, but they didn’t care. This was their time to be themselves, when no one would judge them because they were two girls in love.
