I took the headband and placed it in a box next to the night table. Who could have ever known such a simple thing made from elastic and thread could have caused so much harm?

I was wearing a headband the other day while walking in the park. An older man approached me as simply said “you look like a fucking idiot, why do you wear that on your head” I gazed akwardly at the man with a confused glare, I responded “my pleasure”.

this headband follows me where ever i go, to shows it always knows keeping sweat off my face i see others in this place. But my headband stands out the most.

she wore a headband to hold her bangs out of her eyes. behind her headband her hair stood up to about three inches above her head.

She had her headband pushed so far forward that her bangs were pushed up into a retarted little bump. I couldn’t blame her though. Her whole outfit was rediculous. I don’t think her mother ever taught her how to dress.

I wore that headband like a badge. It meant nothing to any onlookers but for me it was mine, it was MINE, and no one could take it away from me. In later days it would be forgotten and discarded. I don’t know where it is now. But it was mine, oh, it was just mine, and I think back on it now.

She pushed the headband off, over her hair, and dropped in disgust. It was sweat covered, and damp, and she didn’t feel much better. Without it, her hair began to stick to face, getting caught in her eyes and mouth. She looked at it on the floor, and considered. Maybe the Jazzercise outfit wasn’t the worst idea.

rachael niccol is all that i can think of, and how she made me make headbands for her- with her. she slept on the floor in michaels. she pushed herself around on a rolley chair. she made me smile, laugh. fall in love with her even more. appreciate the days that i get drug around by her. and when i buy silly things, but it's not the silly things that matter. it's the time and hours that are shared; spared.

I wrapped my headband round my hair as I thought about what he had said. It didn’t really matter anymore but at least it was done.
