Rolling down through the hills, high up above the sun ducks behind clouds. Bird wheel through trees beneath me, and at my feet a thousand insects crawl through the dense green jungle of the grass
By Stuart on 10.07.2008
there was once a hill that couldn’t stand being what it was. it wanted to be a mountain. or a plain. but it was a hill. and it was sad. it looked up to the other mountains and hills that were taller than it and asked them how to become like them. but they had no reply. instead, it encouraged the locals to dump manure and garbage on it to make it taller. but all it did was stink.

up on the hill. they came. marching. with their funny clothe and weapons that shot metal arrows.
they attacked with deadly force. with their horses. and we could not do anything.

Once upon a time,
we sat upon the hill
and talked about the world,
with the breeze blowing through the grasses
and the daises swishing in the sun.
It was there that I realized I loved you
and it was there that I realized I’d lost you.

A hill is a symbol of triumph. At its top you can go no higher- but there is always a lower point to be reached. One can never stop trying to excel, or they will “fall down the hill” once again. The hill is everywhere- in your job, in your career; it is a symbol of life itself.

e are under the hill or over the hill. we have a hill to climb or a slope to descend. the name hill is common in Britain but I am not sure about other anglo speaking countries, and the grand old duke of york sure loved his hill in both directions

High up on a hill a man was sitting. The moon was shining down on him, casting shadows across his face and naked torso. He had been sitting there for a moment, or forever, he didn’t know. No one knew.
By Miasen on 10.07.2008
The hill will be where I come. To steep for me to climb. I’d love to see the world from the top but I’m not sure this will ever happen… Still it is the most beautiful dream – the hill that stands there for me.
By Matt on 10.07.2008
jack and jill went up the hill. i guess that’s how his crown broke. why do hills have to be so god damn high? and steep? don’t they know that people like me have to walk up them? with heavy backpacks? and heavy jackets? oh man i see the hill, everytime i look out my window i see it. so damn high.

On the hill we walk, quickly gaining speed as we run up the hill. Quickly now I feel the wind rushing against my face as we finally reach the top of the hill to see.
Horror, the battle before us, the fire before us, is just as it would be, death, is all that there is.

I sat on the hill where people gathered. I don’t really know what they where doing but they seemed to be happy. I really hate hills unless I am sledding. Fuck George Bush and the Hill his administration is on.
By Eric on 10.07.2008
i climbed the hill. one foot in front of the other. to reach the top was not the goal, the journey is the goal. my muscles thank me. my heart is working at it’s greatest potential.

Arkansas is full of them. They’re nature’s crescendos and depressions. I’ve lived on a hill almost my entire life, except when I was in Texas.

s hill far away that stood alone in the night. There in the darkness a man stood on that lonely hill. staring out across the bay. Behind him stood the darkened stones of sacrifice. The had seen much blood over the years and the spirits of the slain were restless. He felt them move , wondering who disturbed their rest, seeking a way into his mind, a way to feel once more the warmth of the flesh. He stood against them strong in his faith, the ghosts on the hill.

She ran up the hill. The stars were bright while the leaves screamed blood into the night sky. The dream was written all over the ground and the days were shortening faster than ever. Night had become all.

the high hills are beautiful place to be in. cool, high and clean.
I like hills a lot, the get the best out of me and I am happy being there.
House on a hill is a dream

I thought that hill was yesterday’s word. Maybe this isn’t a daily thing. I guess I’ll suss that out as I go along. I wonder what’s going to happen when I’m done. I’m a one-word virgin. This paragraph has very little to do with a hill.

THere was this green hill outside my window. I saw a little burrow at the left side of it. my imagination wandered and I wanted to find out where it lead. I went outside and walked over beside this hill and peeked inside. I couldnt see much. It was dark. This would require a flash light.
By Larrisa on 10.07.2008
i CLIMED UP the hill and ran to the other side as fast as I CAN. He was walling away from me and I was running towards him. towards him the with intention of a warrior and th heart of a lover. Simple, yet complex steps erupted from my feet as I ran into problem after problem. My heart on the line as it always seems to be. Always…..

that’s where the capitol is, which is different from the capital. It’s also where they cypress is, which, when spoken of together, refers to a pretty spiffy hip hop group.
What it isn’t is a place found in the midwest.

A hill, it seems so serene. I walk up it, the sun on my face, I see the city below, just waking up. I hope one day they see what I see, this beauty. I only hope.

This is where users write e.g. ‘hill’ was the given prompt when I pressed ‘go’.
Of course you could do the same thing in class with a whiteboard and an egg timer so the concept is not new, but the added dimension of posting the written response to the web creates a little bit of drama to the activity. Perhaps it won’t lead to great writing, but it could be a nice warm up activity for your students.

It was lovely and grassy, but so steep I thought I’d never make it to the top. The breeze ruffled the grasses and wildflowers, and I climbed into that perfect blue sky.
By Kits on 10.07.2008
He told me to go up, I ask him why. He told me the top was better, and the higher I went the better I would be. But then I realised that maybe a Hill is better than a mountain, and maybe we don’t all need ot be at the top to feel happy.

I used to live on a huge hill. The bus would never drive up it so every day after school I climbed it. I think thats why I have such big leg and thigh muscles. They rub together a little when I walk. Im glad I have big thigh muscles though or else I couldnt have such great sex.

Pendle is a hill of note . It sits massively above the villages. Witches are said to have lived in its shadows, it often rains and the mist lies low.
By Corinne on 10.07.2008
I climbed the hill, i rolled down the other side. Climbing up was difficult, but worth the roll on the other side. Hills are different from mountains, because the slope is gradual. The test is of perseverance and consistency to go up a hill. It doesn’t require bolts of energy, just a steady effort. It also doesn’t require equipment, just a willingness to go forward. Getting over hills is less celebrated, perhaps less respected than climbing mountains, but is more comparable to the day-to-day experience of life.

There were hills in her eyes. Peaks I could plant a flag in and she let me. But there were also dips that I couldn’t get around. I couldn’t find my way out of them sometimes. Like today.

I hate following slow cars up hills. Because apparently they don’t know how to use the gas pedal in the first place, so when a hill comes they just glide up until the come to an almost stop. Then thats when they realize that they are stopped and hit the gas real hard.

i was climbing up a hill one day, with my friend julian, and then we magically fell down. to my surprise there was a unicorn at the bottom of the hill, he told us to use a knife and scrape some of his horn off. we did so, and put it in a small bag. he said that when we get to the top of the hill to sprinkle it everywhere, we did so, and a candy house appeared at the top of the hill!
