The hinge on the door was bent at a ninety degree angle. It was obvious that something strong had been here. The door was completely destroyed for it was made from wood. The metal hinge had fared too much better either.
She stood behind the door waiting for him to enter. It had been a long day and everyone had been wonderful to help her.
There was a clinking from his keys. She had to suppress her giggle. The hinge creaked as he opened the door. The light flickered and she knew it was time.
The boy could only see so much through the hinge of the door. He could see, in the dim light, two figures in the dark, figures he knew in daylight but now through that tiny crack they look not the same. Melded together, twisted – twisted by the bedsheets that freshly came from the laundry, through that hinge of the door they could’ve been practicing how to plough a field.
