It’s fur was smooth and silky. The brown, earth colored mane shimmered in the spring sunlight. It’s tail flailing around the pestering flies. As the sun went higher and beat down hotter, he let out a small whimper.

The night lamp slowly flickered into life, illuminating the small pathway that led to the small barnyard. Inside, the horses neighed, the chickens clucked, the cows mooed and the goats meeeh-ed in welcome of the night. They acknowledged the presence of the shadow that comes with the spreading of the darkness – invisible and imperceptible to the humans but affecting the animals greatly for they know who was to come.

By Amahdi on 09.10.2010
the horses ran away from the ranch, to escape the fate of forever be rid on by other people. All they ever wanted was just to run free and enjoy their time.
By Ashley on 09.10.2010
When people usually talk about horses, they say junk about freedom, and energy. Horses have been muscleslaves for thousands of years. So much for freedom.

My daughter was wild about horse from the age of 7 until she reached puberty. Her room was decorated in nothing but horses—on her quilt, on her wall, on her nightlight, on her light switch—they galloped through her dreams.
By Andie on 09.10.2010
Horses are beautiful creatures, that can be likened to no other animals. They run smoothly and with great reverence and speed, and have the power of one thousand engines!
By Megan on 09.10.2010
There are so many women and girls fascinated with horses, me I see them as a useful tool, but not something sexy. Guess I will never quite be like all the other girls.

I like horses but i don’t know how to ride them. When I was a kid I tried to ride one but he didn’t obey me and after that I never ride one again. I think I would like to learn how to do it

Running through the tall grass, she felt the wind on her chest and flowing through her hair and it made her alive. She jumped on the horse with fury and hit the reins as hard as she could. She was going to find him if it was the last thing she did.

Horses….when i was younger I thought horses were dinosours. Something to be feared. I feared anything that was bigger than me. I feared being eaten, I’d not known back then that a horse would be my best friend.
By Alyss URL on 09.10.2010
they move freely among the tall blue grass. galloping at a pace that only the wind can keep up with. freedom and spirts flying high above. no humans can touch this amazing pack of wilderness and the last of the freedom spirits.

He mounted the horse, adjusting his legs on either side of it, and spurred it onward, watching its mane rise and fall on the breath of the wind as its hooves pounded against the ground, a frenzied glare glazed over its eyes.

They were the biggest creatures I had ever touched and yet gentle as the breeze that kept me from wanting to go back inside and miss this lovely intimacy of fur and muscle and heart.
By Nancy O'Neill on 09.10.2010
When someone says that it you need to think about implication. It is important that you don’t scare the horses and cause a stamped. You are in control of how you respond and your response will cause other things to happen.

Wild wild horses can’t drag me away. The Stones said it best, just like The Beatles usually did. The Stones are not as good as The Beatles.

Horses are more intelligent that many people think. They can be mischievous too: one I used to know liked to stand on my foot, slowly, applying more and more pressure until I squirmed. I think he didn’t want to hurt me: at least I hope he didn’t.

Running, they run and run. Galloping, I wish I could gallop, far away from this place. Feel the wind in my hair, whipping against my face. My hair flying like their tales.

All I can think of is my friend who hates horses
Who, coincidentally, I was just discussing
Apparently, she is the reason why my relationship with my sister is still deteriorating.
So, F horses.

Horses? I was never a horses girl. I was never “horse crazy” I’ve never actually ridden a horse. I admire them, I guess, but I definitely understand how some people are scared of horses. That’s so much power in one animal…
By ktaylor on 09.10.2010
i hate horses. there are a variety of reasons for this. for example, their faces are oft used in a colloquialism for ugly. “Why the long face?” or “I’d never have sexual relations with that girl, she has a horse face.”
By the best writer ever on 09.10.2010
Horses of courses. Horses are large, skittish animals with big eyes and soft fur. Almost every girl wants a horse at one point or another in their life. Why? Who knows? I never got the princess/horse phase.
By Hannah on 09.10.2010
Her look of horror stopped his laughter almost immediately.
“You KILLED them? You KILLED those poor, little animals?”
“Sweetheart, prairie dogs dig holes all over the ranch. I had to think of the horses. One twisted ankle and…” he covered his eyes with one hand and cocked his gun with the other.
“But, daddy, I didn’t think you’d kill them. I mean, the only thing they did wrong was live in a spot that’s already taken. And they don’t take up much room, the little things.”
By Lauren Scharf on 09.10.2010
We separate for three seconds, but I can feel our hearts rattling it’s magnetics and here we are galloping around each others fingers. But I was fine with this. Knowing I could only be attached to you.

I like horses. Or really, my friends like horses. I kind of just jumped on the bandwagon there. I actually never have really liked horses. So, I kind of like how they smell. But I don’t particularly enjoy riding them. Or being around them.

Stomp. Stomp. Stomp.
Harry came toward me with his glowing white mane.
He was hungry.
It was a success.

Sunlight calls across the oceans. It promises that, when you wake in the morning on the deck of this creaking, breaking ship you’ve been living on so long it feels like your whole life, you will have all the lovely, great horses that you ever could have dreamt of.

I had a horse when I was a child and I named her Cherry. She was great horse and often ate my hat. I couldn’t afford to pay for her anymore and so we sold her to a cheese monkey. I had to let her go easily.

Horses are lovely creature. I think of them standing in a misty field. Maybe under an oak tress tall and strong. The morning sun just peeking over the distant hills. Thats beauty and thats horses.
By Benjamin on 09.10.2010
the last one word I had to do was about horses. i am not sure if this is for people who are yet to have an account or what. Anyways I can talk about horses till the cows make babies that look like fish sticks eating cucumbers.
The mane was white with pink streaks. The fur was plastic, and so where the hooves. The eyes had been coated with varnish at the time of manufacturing. Everything about the thing was fake. But the owner… the owner was real.
By miatetangco URL on 09.10.2010
At first I didn’t think it could be real. How could it be presented as it was? A horse in one moment, and then in the next it was in slivers. Slices of horse before me encased behind the confines of glass.
