My dad has hemochromotosis which is build up of iron around the liver. I am sure I know other things about iron too…but I just don’t know what in just a minute. So, I am just going to say…it feels like I have been typing way longer than sixty seconds.

  11. Iron, like steel. Cold and hard and unbreakable. Kinda like my heart is now. There was a time when it was moldable. When lust, the thing I thought was love, made it hot and easy to shape. Now, the fires have died and all that remains is this twisted soul.

  12. Fe on the periodic table. Did you know that Iron Man is a Fe Male? Haha. I have an iron deficiency. It’s because I am a female, as well! I take pills to take my iron higher. You eat red meat to get more iron. True story.

  14. iron is what makes mafic magma mafic. did you know that there are different kinds of magma and therefore different kinds of rocks? felsic magma doesn’t have any iron in it. or not as much as mafic i guess. i’m really not sure why that matters unless you live in a volcanic area because if you live near felsic volcanoes you’re screwed but mafgic ones aren’t as bad. theyr’re just like hawaiian volcanoes that erupt constantly but don’t really do anything.

  26. iron bars… the old iron town. she lived in an old factory town. rundown- seen it’s better day. it was a strange place where the unexplained happened. like that day, near sundown, when she was walking home and heard the shrieking. a man was holding the woman up against the iron barred gate. it wasn’t what she thought it was at first though. because the woman’s hands were burning- the ones she held against the bars to keep the rest of herself away from them. the bars burned lines through her face pressed against them; left red angry scars on her hands and cheeks where her tears ran down. her skin melted away and the iron was red as if hot. she screamed and shouted awful things to him but the man just held her there. he told her calmly over the shrieking protests that her kind wasn’t wanted there and that she had been warned- they all had all been warned and it was not to happen again or the consequences would be more severe. the girl that had seen it all stood there, in shock at first then silent acceptance. then she turned and walked away. she had seen stranger things in this old town after all.

  34. its still here. It still doesn’t exist in the state that I want it to. Its strong, yes, but it hasn’t protected me. Why is iron used to protect me? The people who hurt the most in my life are my family the ones that have the keys to my house, the codes to my safe. iron doesn’t keep them out but makes them stay closer. Its suffocating.

  35. Iron could be so many things. It could remind me of my little sister’s starring role in Hairspray, where her mother ironed clothes for other women. It could remind me of playing Monopoly in my basement mostly out of boredom and enjoyment of other people’s company more than love of the game, and how I always chose the dog and she always chose the iron. It could be in reference to IronMan, either the song or the movie, both of which are ok with me.
