the ivy leaves were astounding as the clug to the walls of the church winding and spiraling in a graceful pattern. i felt a brief moment of jealousy about me. for the ivy leaves were simply just admirable! i reached my hand out towards the plant, trying to touch it. it was too distant and i was not able to touch it. okay. seriously? this computer is doing the same thing again=( i’m not very happy about this

The ivy was taking over the house. It had started in a small pot hanging near the back door, a little life brought into the house by his ex-wife. When she left, it stayed. He wondered sometimes if the plant was in cohorts with her. It certainly seemed that way from the way that it curled around the curtain rod and down onto his favorite recliner.
The smoke crept from my mouth in tendrils and I felt it coming to wrap around my neck like your hands around my chin. You looked at me and I think I saw someone else because I felt things I didn’t know I could feel for a stranger. But his eyes looked at me through your lashes and you smiled and he smiled through your teeth and you kissed me and I heard his voice loud in my ears as I touched my tongue to yours. You tasted like him and it made me want you. I’d say I’m sorry but you didn’t seem to mind.
the ivy had spread all over the house and had infected each member of the family. But the family did not seem to mind. They actually enjoyed the experience. Ivy was just the puppy the family wanted.

knew it was poison ivy the moment I saw it. I looked left. There was nowhere to go. Right; equally impassable. I could go down, but that would be over a thousand feet of steep terrain. Hanging there on the side of the mountain, I realized that I didn’t really have much of a choice. I grabbed into the ivy with both hands and used it to pull myself up.

The ivy grows along the road. I pass it in the car as we drive by. Green and lush and beautiful, it runs all the way to where I need. I see the birds around it, and I wonder what else is below. Could there be spiders and snakes as well? Maybe we will never know. I wish that there was ivy nearby.
