  1. Lofts are cool but hard to decorate. They sound cooler than they are. They are cool in the cold way, too. I prefer “lofty” – high and mighty and at least purposeful, even if cold.

  2. A loft apartment is something which typically, in my experience, has been associated with yuppies living in New York City, or the like. Why is this? I’ve never rented or owned a loft apartment, nor have I ever been in one, and I wonder: what’s so special about them?

  3. I like lofts, but I am thinking about something else right now, but I will try to talk about lofts. Lofts are airy and make you feel as if you are on top of the world. It feels as if you have a chance to escape, being so close to the ceiling, so close to the roof of your house. I really like lofts and wish I had one.

  4. Last year I decided to take a writing class at the Writer’s Loft. It was held in a little cabin in the woods. Winter swirled outside as the fireplace blazed in the corner of the room. The teacher was good at what she does and the students were eager to share their stories but I felt no urge to write or to share. I sat there taking it all in. The first real emotion I felt that night came from the cold slam of air in my face when I opened the door to leave. It was a wake up call for me, life’s way of saying “you don’t really need a teacher, just do the work and you will be fine”.

  5. I fell out of my loft, slamming into the hardwood floor so hard I think I broke my nose. I struggled up, and looked out the window to see the sun staring back at me, in the middle of the sky. “Great,” I thought, “Late again.”

  6. My mother once had a cozy cottage in the country. It had a lovely loft at the top that was split into two rooms. One for me, and one for my younger sister. This was in the magical days of youth where the loft was our castle in the clouds and the pillows we would throw over the edge were our cloud weapons. I don’t believe I’ve ever smiled that genuinely since.

  10. He always wanted to live in a loft. Made him feel real New Yorky.
“Come up to my loft,” he used to practice saying when still a poor, doritos and rice eating college student.

  12. I’ve always wanted a place with a loft. Not sure why…it just seems somewhat romantic and Bohemian. The reality of a loft in quite another thing. Heat rises. Spiders like tight corners. Everyone can see your space.

  13. He lived in the loft. It was his home and all theat he knew. The feeling of this was something that no one but he could feel, not even the one he loved and shared it with. A liking this great, could not be explained, for what this loft did for him.

  14. I built a loft for my dorm room in college so I could have a desk underneath. One day, it fell on me. Not much of a carpenter I guess.

  15. I was sitting in my loft, which I shared with Whatsername and St. Jimmy. I was all by myself. As I started to reflect on my life, and the last three months I’ve lived, I was starting to feel a bit depressed. How could I let this happen. I’ve never been into…other guys before. But now, here I am, being paranoid over an STD I may or may not have caught from Jimmy. What would Will and Tunny say if they knew? Would they shun me for being gay? Would they try to deal with the news? There were so many things running through my mind

  19. I spent all my time in the loft of our apartment. There was really no other to choice. I couldnt find the key to the door; and I didn’t know how to actually open it. So I sat, and waited. Waited for the time to tick away. Waited for the door to suddenly be open one morning. So I could fly out of this cage known as our relationship, fly into the bright blue open sky and never look back.
