  1. As far as I know mangoes are a fruit most often found in vaguely tropical places. They taste pretty nice and are green when not ripe, which is true for a lot of fruits I suppose. I’m not sure how popular they are, but the juice is pretty well known, as are the yogurts, Or something.

  2. I am allergic to mangos. The first time I had them was when I was seven years old and I ate nearly an entire bag of them, dried. I got hives and decided to never eat them again. They were still delicious though, and I think the hives were worth it. Mango is a nice word. Mangos are an orangey-yellow colour.

  3. Mango…just brought back hilarious memories of watching satyrday night live with my two incredibly witty and off the cuff friends from high school. We loves chris kattan and sheri o’teri and will ferrell-they would make us howl with laughter which would then allow us to sapend the week trying to emulate their sketches and characters. I love mango-chris kattans “monkey-boy” character!

  4. Expensive clothes that I can hardly afford. Reminds me of Mango salad from Thailand that I like a lot. Come to think of which I used to think it’s a funny name because it means man and go. I really wonder how that fruit got its name. Anyway, i dun really like it as I usually get the sour ones. Guess it’s a matter of luck.

  5. that’s a fruit I can smell as soon as i hear the word and manage to visualise its yellow/green skin, if that’s what they call it, or is it a sort of rind or rhinoceros? It’s thick like the hide of a rhinoceros but how would I know that when I’ve never seen or touched a rhinoceros?

  6. I already did mango yesterday? Today is a new day, why am I getting the same word? mango mango mango mango mango mango mango mango mango mango mango mango mango.

  7. Lush fruit, always between ripening and softening, never quite perfect in my experience.
    Not my favourite taste,
    Far too powdery.
Although aesthetically it is very pleasing,
    And the smell evokes images,
    Of summer days,
    In grassy parks.

  8. The mango tree was heavy with fruit. My job was to protect the fruit from the monkeys who were eyeing the heavy fruit with greedy eyes.

  9. Delicious, juicy, exotic, reminds me of Australia and eating mango on the beach with sand in my teeth and the wind matting my hair and blowing it so it sticks to the fruit, delightful and decadent watching the sun sparkle on the sea.

  12. Orange most of the time bitter. Don’t really like them a lot. Ice tea mango is the worst thing i’ve ever tasted. I think mangos come from trees but im not really sure i always thought it was bushes but ehh never know. Exotic fruits? once again don’t know. Filled with pesticides? most likely expensive.

  13. She looked at the mango in her hand, twisted it a few times in her palm and then gave it to the little boy standing in front of her. “But, mam!”, he chirped “Mam, you shouldn’t give me food! You might need it yourself!”
But the woman just smiled gently, touched the little boy’s cheek and whispered “You may need it more than me!”

  14. The juice ran down her cheeks and pieces of yellow-orange fruit fell into her lap, but she didn’t mind the mess. She sunk her teeth into the ripe flesh and the sweetness flowed thick under her tongue. She let it sit for a while, and she closed her eyes.

She could remember the moment perfectly. Sitting on the back porch, her legs salty with sweat that made her skin stick to the plastic lawn chair, she could still taste the tea against the roof of her mouth, still feel the mint and honey flooding between her gums.

She only hoped this moment would be one to remember–that, like the mango she ate, her first day in a new land would be beautiful, sweet, savory, and flavorful.

A classmate of long ago had a nickname: mangocarso. The ‘carso’ part is unclear to me, but he got the first part of his name because he once talked about a mango.

  25. One thing we rarely see in the large conglomerate supermarkets, is a ripe mango, or non-grainy pears, or sweet smelling local strawberries. Why? Cheaper to buy them green, ship them thousands of miles and pile them up hundreds deep. Who cares if they taste good or not, so long as the profits are good.

  34. Her lips were a slick of mango gloss, her damp skin a coconut-oiled heaven. Drawn in by the clouds that skittered across their stormy surface, I drank deeply from eyes as blue as the ocean, and swam the depths of her soul.
