I picked up the microphone and started to sing. Unfortunately, the sound that was coming from my throat was nowhere near as lovely as I wanted it to be. Thankfully, I was alone, and no one would be able to hear the cat that was slowly dying in pain and misery. I put the microphone down and winced.
