MYTHS ARE WHAT BOOKS ARE MADE OF, WHAT IDEAS ARE CONSTRUCTED OF, WHAT DREAMS YEARN FOR, WHAT ESTABLISHES THE GROUNDS FOR A COMMUNITIES SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE. MYTH IS NOT FACT, ITS NOT REAL NOR IS IT FALSE…….ITS A MYTH. MAYBE MAYBE NO

there was once upon a time a terrible guy that never washed his teeth and never washed his clothes and never fixed his bed and never got to a real world

Part of another land, in the corner of our minds, lies a myth. All mythical creatures come from wishes, magic, and fairytales about wants, needs, and desires of human beings. We forget that mythical creatures can be from anywhere–because there are so many types of imagination. The potential

a myth is a lie, or a fantasy. Only fictional. For example these are myths: Santa clause, tooth fairy, Easter bunny, leprechauns and mermaids.

i believe that genesis is a myth. adam and eve are not true people so much as they are archetypes of male and female for us humans to relate to.
By elizabeth. on 01.26.2010
death isnt the end.
the afterlife isnt a myth.
our soul is separate from our body, they cannot be in the same place at the same time, so it must go somewhere else when our body dies.
By eliza on 01.26.2010
Myth is a legend which may or may not be true, for example the Loch Ness Monster.
By Paula on 01.26.2010
I feel like a myth is something that’s not really tue but sometimes it has a baasis in fact. I always think that myths are interesting because they always are so bizzar, but someonw had to think about it, and come up with it so that’s really what it is. It’s an extraavogant story that someone made up, i like myth busters. That’s a good show.
By Maya on 01.26.2010
sometimes we tell ourselves that there are things or people in our lives that can make us happy. Deep down we know this is just a myth.
By Libby Vicenzino on 01.26.2010
the myth of our world is completey and untetterly mysterious, we try to discover who we ereally are but we cannot get anywehere, we are all part of centrain myths who only make us more an dmore vuenrable to whats arounds us, not knowing exacly who we are and going by whhat we hear people say or following other peoples directions. thats what a myth is

Something i’ve always loved. Perhaps it relates to my desire for the intangible. Something always out of reach but tantalizing from its high perch.

Myth is love.
Love is mth.

you say,’it’s disappointing that who i thought you were isn’t true,’ like, wow!this is something new. You’ve always told me how much i disappoint you.it’s what you feed me.it’s what you do.how come i am expected to just accept your behavior as,’this is who i am-take it or leave it’,but i am supposed to do nothing but change to your every whim?your arrogents is astounding

I think of Aslan the lion, of God metaphors. Perhaps religion? I dunno, myths help people understand things, help them wrap their head around something incomprehensable without scientific knowledge, in humanity’s quest for understanding.
By Paul on 01.26.2010
The Greeks had their myths and we have ours. In fact there was probably a time where the Greek Myths weren’t myths at all but were in fact fact. Over time, of course, as new ideas came into vogue, what was once know as truth came to more to be known more and more as myth. The lines are blurry. What do any of us really know anyway?

something people make up. Something that is not true. a lie. story about a legend or creature.
By Sarah Knights on 01.26.2010
Something that isn’t told, you need to think of even overthink about it. Nothing can be proven and it is even harder to know what is true. This word makes things harder, you can make it even into a rumor. Myths are hard.
By Whitney Mf on 01.26.2010
myths aren’t true. but there is truth in myths. from myths we learn about who we are, who we were, and who we can become. the catch? we have to believe. we have to believe in the unbelieveable. that is how we change the world, how we change ourselves. Man is no longer man. Man becomes myth.
By Corbin on 01.26.2010
God is a myth. He doesn’t exist. If He does, I can’t stand him. Why do babies get sick and die? They are innocent. It makes me so fucking lonely. I want to die.
By Taylor on 01.26.2010
something not true. big foot. i want a myth. about myself. why do people believe in myths? myth myth myth myth.
That there is a perfect body. That there is a perfect weight. That even if there was, that any of us would be able to achieve it. That the way that we are now is not okay. That we aren’t alright.
By Wendy on 01.26.2010
Something made up about a certain place or person. For example the theater I work at, my co-workers and managers say its haunted. But its really not.
By Rayna on 01.26.2010
It was a myth that he was 6’7″ tall, He was really only 6.5″ and skinny as a rail. But those long fingers were both sensitive and sensuous…
By jobo on 01.26.2010
Sometimes I think God is a myth. What if there is no afterlife? What is there is nothing worth living for? What if some guy just decided to make everything up? Would I change how I live? Would things be different? How am I basing my life on something that I don’t know could be true?
By Bethany on 01.26.2010
Myth is separated from legend by its cloudy feet, in opposition to the solid feet of semi-real characters like Paul Bunyan. Myth is home to gods, superheroes. In the modern day, it would seem that many people interpret our God as a legend rather than a myth, which is sort of alarming, really.
Something that people so very easily believe! It’s almost as if the word ‘myth’ is a myth in itself. Perhaps one day people will knock of all this myth nonsense and start understand that reality is real.
By Lauren Dickson on 01.26.2010
a beautiful concept. A folk story that inspires a people, a word that evokes a sense of fantasy and a longing for it’s story to be real. Everything we wished we could believe in but know better than to do. A collective desire of a whole people.

A myth is a untrue statement, it is merely an opinion or a theory that someone developed based on what they observed to be true and right.

Myth… you is to define myth. everyone has an opinion on what is real and what is not. Is love real or a myth?
By Sue on 01.26.2010
More on myth- Is love real or a myth? Could it be chemicals sending signals to your brain. Giving a sureal experience. Or is it truly magical? Two energies drawn to eachother with unexplainable reasons?
