    This darkness
has changed much from the previous.

Even when the odds are against us. Even when we don’t have a plan.

Oh, probably to fluff her ego. I was so stupid for following her around and trying to catch her attention.

No, wait. This was the kind of thinking wrecks it for me every time.

A woman doesn’t gaze across the room at you like she’s throwing down a challenge if she truly didn’t care.

  26. I should have a bit more of this. Frustrating though, when you’re hearing impaired and you can’t do things other people can. My state just passed a law that you are required to drive hands free – which means no talking on the phone to your ear. However … I can’t use bluetooth, or headphones with a mic since they require use without my hearing aid! Ugh, maybe throw a bit of optimism my way – I surely know I need it.

  29. I’m walking down the street finishing up my cigarette and throw it over a pile of trash. I stare at it for a while, feeling depressed and lonely, i feel like the cigarette butt thrown in the street, forgotten and wasted. But this cigarette butt still has one little spark and this spark is growing. This little spark is burning some old newspapers, it doesn’t care about making new friends. This spark has still got some hell to bring upon, it’s catching quickly, igniting every flammable material in it’s way. Guess what? this little spark has now started a fire! it’s burning up the whole block. The fire department is here, neighbors are running franticly in their bathrobes covering their eyes, reporters are hassling people with their microphones and cameras. This fire in uncontrollable, the whole city is going mad, soon it’s on national television, Helicopters stream through the air, the army gets involved, people are on their knees praying. I watch this and rub my eyes, irritated from all the smoke. I suddenly don’t feel so down anymore, I’m feeling optimistic.

  30. I’m not people.

    I’m a goddamn star.

I’m a star, for all the reasons that people think they are human beings.

    Because I can think.

    Feel.

    Perceive.

    Hurt.

    Love.

    I am a goddamn star.

I hope that makes sense. Then again, it probably doesn’t, and optimism really isn’t my strong point. I’m a pessimist to the core – s’why I’d rather be a star, than be alive, some days.

  31. optimism, positivity, happiness. all the same thing. it’s seeing the cup half-full, rather than half-empty. we all need it to survive in our lives, because for those of us seeing the cup as half empty, every time we say that, we lose another precious year of our lives—or something like that anyways

His entire life was filled with the pessimistic thoughts brought about by his guilt, by his torment that he brought upon himself. Can’t he just see that the world doesn’t view him as a monster? That I don’t view him as a monster?

    by Hannah Rae on 12.20.2010
