    We orbit each other
One existing because the other is there
    Holding each other up
    And keeping each other apart
Break free from the orbit set by the sky
    Break free from its eternity
I want to feel you close to me

  3. in my world, I am the the singular, though it seems i am not the centrifcal force around which others orbit. Instead, I bounce from precious little orb to precious little orb…bobbing from one head at a time; noticing and moving on. for that moment, my world is you, and then it’s you they are all my worlds. I am their second grade teacher.

  4. It was one orbit, yet it seemed like forever. Mark tucked his head between his knees and stared at the ground, trying to reduce the feeling of nausea. They had abducted his Matthew, his son. He would make them pay. But first, he had to sit while his ship orbited the land of Faybridge.

  5. He walked down the hall burning like a small sun with a group of kids in orbit. Those too close were bound to get burned and those on the outskirts had less gravity.

  6. Gum… planets… gravity? what makes us gravitate towards those we’re surrounded by… coincidence is so hard to believe… so unlikely. Even the worst things always seem to be for the good eventually

  7. Her planet’s orbit is way out there! She is really not very clued in to life here on earth, that is for sure. I worry about that sometimes, but other times I realize that she is perfectly happy the way that she is.

  8. The hypnotic sound of the waves gently rolling onto the coarse-grained sand, and retreating with a sloshing fizzle, put me in a euphoric trance of wandering thoughts. I began to ponder about the wonders of natural life and creation. I was in awe at the fact that a giant rock orbiting the earth was responsible for the breathtakingly powerful tides of the sea.

  9. The planets orbit the sun and we orbit around the globe on jet planes. they take us from our boring and mundane lives to a place 5 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours ahead and we become completely different people and completely carefree and everything is perfect.

  11. I’m pretty sure that the earth orbits the sun, and the moon the earth. If I have that wrong, I apologise to my primary (elementary) school teachers. On a like topic, I don’t believe any man has made it to the moon. I said that recently to some shocked friends, but truthfully, how did the flag sway like it did? Too many questions raised.

  12. My life orbits around something that does not depend upon my existence. Of course, It doesn’t work the other way around. I am in need, I must base my life on what allows me to live so that I cannot die inside. He does not feel the same way, and I am fully aware of it. My heart knows the truth as well, but it can still keep dragging on.

  13. I flew into space in my spaceship and instantly was sent into orbit. Which was ironic because I was chewing Orbit gum at the time. Which was also ironic because as I was chewing orbit gum, while being in orbit, I was orbiting around the Earth which was also in Orbit.

  14. I orbit around earth finding a place to call my own. I could live on
One of the many rings of saturn and meet a woman on venus.

  15. You used to orbit around me like the planets to the sun. I was your sun. Now I’m abandoned. There are no more majestic worlds surrounding me with rich beauty. Now it’s just me. Alone in a dark empty space, surrounded by an orbit, empty.

  16. The stars and solar systems orbit around the galaxy with untold mighty power. At the center lies a mysterious and invisible force known as a black hole. Black holes warp the fabric of space time, and once something enters it it begins to evaporate. Once evaporated, it’s as if it never were.

  17. i wonder how different life would be
if the earth didn’t orbit the sun
if the earth was the center
    if i was the center

  18. Going into orbit – I go to the moon. July 19 / 20, 1969 I will never forget the wonder of that night. My entire family gathered around the tv to watch the events unfolding on the moon. My brother Mark and I then went outside and looked at the summer moon — maybe it was a full moon? At least it was close to full. I was awestruck knowing that people were there.

  19. As sure as the Earth
    Shall orbit the sun, Mankind
    Will be foe to Man

  20. The station orbits the Earth, as it always does. And Mari is in her room, observing yet another explosion down below– from the United States again. She has always been surprised by the fact that it held on to its name, when it had so clearly ballooned into an empire. For show, she supposes

  21. The thrusters burned hard and the sky lit with their fire as we broke orbit, sending us crashing across the deck and into the cargo. The engines whined and the systems screamed, blaring safety instructions.

Stumbling back up, I looked across to the captain.

    “Any sign?”

He shook his head and a wide smile broadened his face. We took to the port hole and looked at the stars. “Nothing but the sky.”

  22. The girl looked out of the window, mouth agape. “I never thought that it would look this beautiful,” he whispered, looking out to the world that lay below the shuttle — a green and blue sphere that was laced with wisps of white.

  23. some someone pulls me back
    into orbit around oneword.
to her i write, thanks :)

  24. Orbit. Not rarebit. Not the Jetson’s pet dog. Not the sound a frog makes. But it could be the name of a lame, old, toothless, dusty cowboy sidekick from a B western movie. Orbit.

  25. My sticky thoughts, orbit around your head, neusances I imagine like flies buzzing inside your ear.

  26. He was the sun and she was the moon. Wait… that’s not right. She was the Earth and he was the moon. Better, but still too cliche. He was Mars and she was Deimos, she was Phobos. No, no, no! That’s not right either. Their love did not come from orbiting one another. Their love was not obsession, was not gravity, was not sheer force. She was Andromeda, and he was Orion, and together they lit up both the night and one another’s hearts.

  27. Just as the planets stay on orbit, traveling in the same direction, on the same path, everyday, day after day, I am slowly begin to view my life in the same manner.
Week after week, it’s the same old thing. I want to get off orbit, travel on my own and do my own thing for a while.

  28. She steps into the greenhouse lightly, not sure if she should take his talk of traps seriously. The place certainly doesn’t LOOK dangerous…all the supports and inlays are made of gold, or possibly just lacquered. But knowing him it’s much more likely that they’re pure. The place has the initial feel of a wild, unkempt jungle, but as she steps gingerly further in, carefully latching the small gold hook behind her, she recognizes the extreme amount of care that’s been put into making the place feel wild but not overwhelming. The plants are magnificent, some familiar and some species she’s never seen; even a few she’s nearly sure don’t exist. She pads lightly towards the center, into the brush and away from the light. As she enters a small clearing, the breath leaves her all in one gasp. There, surrounded by plants the world outside has never seen, is a tiny, floating solar system. She steps closer, mesmerized, and realizes that the miniature planets are all made of different breeds of moss, some of them inlaid with or growing around little, sparkling gemstones. Slowly, she reaches out a finger, not sure what she means to do with it, and jerks back in surprise as a blaring horn sounds. She recoils, mind whited out in pain as she presses her hands to her ears. Perhaps this was a trap after all.

  29. surrounding in a vast place. constantly spinning. Spinning… forever in a constant daze. Never questioning, always following the same path. Unquestioning, a perfect subordinate. Forever following the same cycle. Orbiting.

  33. We continually orbit around one another, catching glances on online chat applications, but never sure when or who or how to make the first move, to collide with another planet that seems so close yet so out of reach.

  34. I am floating in an orbit around the Earth. Thousands of miles away, just floating along in my own sphere. Feeling weightless, I wonder if I feel restless as well. Or if I just feel as exhausted as I feel now. Only lonelier.

  35. I orbit around my own planet
    exist in my own world
and i would have it no other way
because my world is irenic and beautiful

is nothing but their most genuine self
I hope your orbit is beautiful too

  36. Sunlight. That was what she thought of the fist time she met you. A brilliant golden-brown blur of sunshine and summer sweat accompanied by an unapologetic curl of laughter, blazing your happiness in every direction at once. Like the sun, you burnt her eyes.
    And she couldn’t look away.
She orbited you, planning her day around your movements like any good planet would around its sun. She wasn’t the closest to you by a long shot–perhaps comarable Saturn, eternally eclipsed by Jupiter. But she was simply happy to be in the same solar system. Her only fear is the gravitational pull, ever-present in its threat to take you both in opposite directions.

  37. I wonder what Major Tom was thinking when we was shot into orbit. Did he understand the risks? Or did the oblivion and vastness of outer space just cancel out any insecurities. Who can say; only Bowie.

  40. His orbit was in a steady decay and there was no bailing out. He’d have to ride it out, ride right through her atmosphere, praying that his shielding remained intact. It was going to be a bumpy ride. Sweat beaded on his brow. He took a bandana out of his back pocket to mop, she intercepted his hand, squeezed and swiped the red swath of cloth.
“The contractions are like 10 minutes apart,” she said “Fucking focus.”
