I remember when you bought those clothes to try and impress me, even though we had dated for a year before. You sensed our love was dying and I was too young and too stupid to realize. Everyone thought we would last. I thought your clothes were stupid.

The skirts. The ugly man skirts. Who decided they were fashionable and should be carried through time to show the ‘manliness’ of men?
By hilary on 06.05.2011
Material?? What is that, who wears it these days? unless im not very clued up about fashion. But in SA it doesnt get that cold so we dont need it. I may be wrong though…what is the definition?? ermmmm…plaid????

Oh plaid. Plaid shirts remind me of hipsters. Gotta love hipsters. Which reminds me of my friend steve who is a wanna be hipster. Oh and it reminds me of forestry majors like my roommate from last year. Plaid just wishes it were as cool as madras or seersucker. ahh out of time!!!

plaid is never one color or in one place, it is insane. It is ever changing. it is a mixture of colors and shapes. I enjoy looking at colors and shapes, and I look at plaid and I am reminded of the blessing of eyesight, so that I can enjoy plaid.

I have capris that are plaid colored. I know a lot of hicks around town who wear plaid, especially loggers. I’m not too big on plaid myself. My brother and dad wear a lot of plaid. I wonder if people dress their dogs in plaid. I think plaid colored nails would be cute, if it were the right color; I would try it out if I knew someone who painted nails really good.

i see the plaid pants…that don’t match the striped shirt or the polka dotted socks or the rainbow colored necklace. There is a yellow bow tie and a pink shoe and the other shoe…well it simply isn’t there. It’s nowhere to be found and this outfit is definitely rare.

His pants were plaid. He looked so handsome and yet so different above the common appearances of people. His blue hair, black shirt and plaid pants. Green with black plaid pants. A mixture of lines uncovering his complicated life.

I htink this means the plaid they have on kilts and skirts men wear in Ierland. Im not sur ehtought. this could b esome other kind of plaid. What else could it be? I have no idea. Maybe some thing that forms naturally, something like a platue or a mountain of some sort. If not, it could just be the kind of plaid that is worn by japanies students on their school uniforms that makes the girlss look sexy but modest all at once, and the guys get chique ties to wear with teh same colors. It has always been a pridful style. I think it was a really great way to pull off school uniforms. As for the Irish and Scotts that wore it, I am not impressed, but it also is a sense of pride for thier family name. The colors mean something to them, and just as well the patterns.

shocking. the boy slowly brushed it up. awkwardness lingered in the early morning air. the girl assured him, its okay, i havent done this before but it feels right. her eyes pierced down, as he looked up. innocence lost.

I own about three plaid shirts. Most of them are american flag colored. I love when guys wear plaid shirts. They look adorable. My boyfriend owns a couple and he wears the black and white one when we go out. He thinks he is dressed up but I don’t think so.

it has lines. the lines come together and there makes a different color. I love plaid shirts. people say its because im a lesbian. plaid looks like plain. plain is not plaid at all. Plain is one color, plaid is all mixed. Hollister sells plaid shirts. this guy kit i work with wears plaid. I love what kit wears.

He plucked at the plaid sheets on his bed. They weren’t the same as the warm sheets that always comforted him at Top’s apartment. It wasn’t simple and clean, not white nor Egyptian cotton. None of the comfort of what felt like home.

plaid. oh. like the design of my favorite shirt. my boyfriend hates plaid. but i love it. maybe even a little more after he told me he hated it. but it’s me. it’s funky. it’s different. i don;t like when other people have the same design. I like me. i like unique. plaid. burnt vacant red. plaid. me!

Its my favorite. My flannels. It represents me from being lesbian (silly, I know) to the type of music I listen to. While my mom disproves, I think androgyny is a beautiful way to be.
By allie on 06.05.2011
Plaid is a pattern you find on shirts and shorts and bags. Lines after lines, crossing each other at exactly 90 degrees, and usually 3 or more colors…
I think of the stereotypical, rough-hewn farmer, but also the fashionable student, carrying books to class.

“I don’t see what the issue is. It has to be somebody’s color!”
“Plaid isn’t anybody’s color.”
“What about if they’re Irish?”
“You mean Scottish?”
“…No. Nobody is going to buy a plaid hair dye. Try another project or else.”

the first thing i remember about him isn’t his smile or his voice or the warmth of his arms. i remember the bright, bouncing designs of his clothes, the plaid of his jacket, the tacky neon t-shirts that contrasted so much to my muted, autumn palate. there was always something so alive about him and everything he did.

Plaid is something that we see in our everyday lives whether it be on a picnic table in the park or on the guy you like’s shorts. Plaid is something we all know and recognize. Lets put some plaid into our lives, shake things up and play with plaid.

The plaid shirt that Carl was wearing was a bit garish, but it suited his thoughts of the day that were garish in the extreme. He was tired of appearing bland and uninspired, and picking up the green and gold plaid shirt from the thrift store was his first stab at being interesting. He couldn’t wait to get to work.

I don’t even know what plaid means. How’s this supposed to help. :( I have writer’s block and I’m supposed to be talking about plaid and I have no idea what it is. Isn’t it some sort of material? Or is that pleat? Like pleated skirts? I’m gonna have to google this after. I’ll google ‘plaid’ and be like oh yeahhhhh now I remember. I’m such a dork, just waffling on like this. Hmmmm. *waits for timer to finish* ooh there we go.

i used to own a lot of plaid things. that was back in day when i thought plaid was super cool. like 8 months ago. it was nice to wear things i thought were cool. then, i just abandoned that style when i was done. it’s funny to me. so fleeting, yet so seemingly satisfying.

She woke up and slipped on her plaid school pants. It was getting hot and every year at this time she wondered when she will be released of this painful obligation.
These memories kept coming back as she sat staring out the window.

Crosses and squares, perfect and repeating. Have your expectations, but not great ones. You can rely on them. Timeless pattern, ever the same. Never quite the same as any other. Plain played plaid.

Plaid is not plain its a mixture of colors tie dye is plaids enemy but cousin just cuz tie dye is a chaotic mess of mixing while plaid is just matching and straight lines. Plaid shirts are good as button downs but nothing more with PLAIN tan cargo shorts and converse

Plaid. A beautiful collection of colors and lines. That’s how Lily thought of it as she pulled the flannel shirt of the ancient wardrobe. Slipping the soft fabric on her shoulders, she shivered with the comforting feeling it gave her.
