  2. “Ugh, I hate you,” I said. “Why?” he said seriously. “You look so cute in plaid, and it’s hard for me to be mad at you,” I smiled faintly, and he laughed. But I was still mad. I just didn’t have it in me to tell him that or act on the feeling, so I went on as if everything was okay. But inside, I was still bleeding from the fight, and I felt like he had left me to die.

  3. I wasn’t gay enough to join that crowd because the only piece of plaid I owned was a girly pink halter top that showed too much cleavage and probably would have gotten me a girlfriend in a second if I’d ever dared to wear it out.

  4. The small boy with the plaid shirt looked absolutely ridiculous. It was open all the way except for the top button. He wore a white t-shirt underneath and a red bandanna over his forehead. He wore sunglasses and looked like a west coast gang banger. Except he was five years old.

  16. Plaid has always reminded me of those horrid school uniforms I wore so many years ago. I was at the school for only three days, but it felt like weeks. The teacher was absolutely horrid, and I was lucky enough to have a mother that care enough about my feelings to pull me out of the school and send me to a better one.

  17. The shirt he wore matched his eyes. Green plaid. I sat and watched him in English class, hoping he’d maybe glance at me and notice me noticing him. Oh, the game I play to get him just to see that I like him. I’m too shy to tell him; to just go up and kiss him like I long to do…

  18. huh, not much to say about this one…maybe because i don’t ever think about plaid unless i have to, like now. don’t wear it and generally consider it an eyesore for the most part. just seems like too much going on in one spot. but, well, i suppose i’m simple that way and can’t fathom the awesome that is inherent in plaid.

  21. Plaid is probably one of my favorite fabric patterns. It’s classy and nostalgic, and usually, it’s quite fun to play around in…as a school uniform.
Being one who likes anime, plaid is quite popular in my art. It’s also rather pretty when drawn right. All over, it’s a nice fabric.
    But really…how is it pronounced?

  26. His kilt was all wrong. He wasn’t wearing it right. He was wearing it too long, so that it covered his knees, and the waistband was around his hips.
“No, no no no,” I said. “That’s way wrong, come here.”
I went over to him and started pulling his kilt up into the proper position, so his knees were showing.
    “Much better.”

  29. I like plaid. I associate blue plaid with Catholic school although I’ve never gone to Catholic school. Green and red plaid make me think of Scotland. I own a red plaid skirt which I wore to a Renaissance Festival once. It is one of my favorite skirts. Not sure what else one says about plaid. Doesn’t elicit a lot of thought or emotion really.

  34. I was wearing that color forever. It was a horrid color, although not just one. It was many colors in lines. Plaid. I hate that awful poser of a color. But I was wearing it on that fateful day. The day of the car crash. I wasn’t in it, but I swerved to avoid it.

  36. Hello I would like to talk to you.
But your plaid shirt is too loud.
I don’t think we would have a very good conversation with your shirt being so obnoxious.
    You should like it off…
    Oh baby…

by Seriously can I have your shirt? on 06.05.2011
