He slipped the platinum diamond ring onto my finger as tears started rolling down my cheeks. In that one moment the whole world seemed to disappear and the only thing that mattered was the two of us promising to share our lives together and the bond that the ring symbolised.

I think it works as a metaphor for the most expensive thing and idea, but at the same time, it’s so easy to associate with ye olde platinum blonde. There many expensive metal found in the earth, and Platinum is one of them. I am not sure of its true value, but I know that is is very valuable.
