The blades of fear licking my baby-smooth skin,
the stainless steel shards digging into my flesh,

    but she raises me.

    underwater, over land.

we kissed the moon, and realized
    that we loved the sun.

we named the little things, the big
    things, and ourselves.

we defied gods, while some made
    a choice to bow down.

we would be set if we could live
    with vital parts missing.

    (you)
