  1. “The ratings are off the charts!” Chris yelled as the parade went down Main Street.
“That’s…great! A little unexpected, but…” I said, wondering how the ratings were so high in this disaster of a parade.
“No, sir. They’re off the charts LOW!”
    Oh no.

  2. YOU RATE ME WITH A NUMBER
    TIME FOR SLUMBER
YOU HATE ME WITH INDULGENCE, A LUMBER
JACK TO AN OVERBEARING FOREST’S WAKE
    ILL GET THOUGH THIS QUAKE
    YOUR OPINION DOESNT MAKE
    ME

  3. The paper says it is not enough,
    Pish-posh says I!
    The viewers will love me
    as I love them, and
    I shall combat these
    Lingering numbers
    And rise as a king!

  4. ratings are low
    give the some mow
    grow thy foe
    take me to the stow

  5. The movie recieved many grave ratings, perhaps it was the controversial topic it was on. Many Americans were still sore about 9/11. Many didn’t feel like watching a movie about such a disaster. Though the critics felt heart sick, the movie was shot beautifully with many hidden meanings that caused the viewer to think. The director received death threats, was given several dirty looks out in public. He could no longer go to his favorite restaurant, which was conveniently placed a block away from his apartment. His room became his prison.

  6. I am tired of ratings. Who cares about rating things? People have different opinions or interests. It all depends on a poll, and who takes it. Not who is actually better than the other. It’s all a matter of opinion.

    by Hannah on 03.21.2012
  7. It seems they have dropped
To the lowest of the low
    Ratings
    Dropping
    Like diamonds in the sky
    But not quite as beautiful
    More like tears
Because now it is all over
    No longer a shining star
    Just a nobody

  8. rate it, judge it, your opinion of something. ratings can draw you in or push you away. but find out for yourself, rate it yourself.

    by laura on 03.21.2012
  9. Ratings are the system on which all entertainment, and thus life is based. Being a society based in media the rating threshold makes and molds the world we are part of. The more you like something, the more it becomes the societal norm. The more you dislike something, the more it becomes taboo or risque.

  10. The ratings of American idol are ridiculous. I don’t understand how some one show can have so many viewers when the quality of the production is so low. Who cares about the same people singing every single week. And how come it gets more votes than the presidential candidacy? Americans need to get their priorities straight.

    by Alec on 03.21.2012
  11. Ratings are the ridiculous aspects of our generation. Shows are all about ratings and not plot or substance or morals or anything of substance. Case in point: Jersey Shore. Ratings in the real world are just as terrible; when men rate women on a 1 to 10 scale of hotness or whatever. It’s just sick. Reducing someone’s worth to an arbitrary number is demeaning and demoralizing–not to mention sexist and embarrassing. Ratings are just a part of our meaningless consumer-driven society.

    by Sarah on 03.21.2012
  12. Dear god why do we choose to make movies? And where did this complicated system of critics rating motion pictures off of their fingers start? And who the fuck are you roger ebert? who gave you the license to just mark up movies and say whatever the fuck you want about them?

    by John on 03.21.2012
  13. wasn’t this yesterday’s word? If so, I give this word poor ratings, I don’t find it inspiring. It makes me think of tests and judgement, not topics likely to make phrases flow trippingly from my fingertips.

Everything is rated these days. bananas. bow ties. tub stoppers. a or b or c, we can’t help but grade and be graded.

  14. ok so movie ratings right? like its not really a law or anythng its a guidline for movie houses to make sure little kids dont see sex. like really if there is a grate awe inspiring movie but its not rated or rated R kids cant see it. So that really bugs me. like this new movie bully where kids have kille dthemselves from being bullied.

  17. good ratings help shows games products and movies be watched more or bought more.

  18. People think about ratings far too much these days…what people think of them, how much money they need to earn to have things that they don’t really need. Personal, social, financial , and every other kind of rating from other people really are immaterial, as long as you rate yourself highly.

    by matthew on 03.21.2012
  19. Ratings couldn’t be higher, couldn’t be lower. X marks the spot and Y is the question. R purrs in my lap and PG has too many questions to ask. Rate your addictive personality. On a scale of. On a butterfly’s wing. How do you rate?

by John Oliver Simon on 03.21.2012
  20. My ratings for you are high, like a t.v show on primtime is how i feel for you, high.

    by Daniel Lopez on 03.21.2012
  21. they are over rated.. but in the same time helpful but then again ratings are like opinions every one has one ratings ratings ratings.. blah. that is all.

    by sheila on 03.21.2012
  22. I hate ratings and reviews. Honestly, I don’t care what “experts” think. I read a review and rating for one of my favorite movies, and the critics missed the point of the movie, writing it off as a shallow child’s film, which it is far from. So don’t care what other people think, if it is valuable to you, then treasure it!

    by k on 03.21.2012
  23. Are worthless. It is in the eye of the beholder and lots of the beholders are idiots. Don’t judge something by some one else’s opinion. Thats just ridiculous and lazy. Figure things out on your own. Thats the more exciting route!

    by Kate Andria on 03.21.2012
  24. On Tuesdays we get the ratings which show what TV show American tuned into the previous week. Do we realize this is only showing us how many Americans choose to watch someone else’s life unfold rather than create their own? live in their own? be their own person? REALLY?!?

  25. It was all in the ratings. The show was garbage, but when you plugged in a cast of recognizable faces, it was more than enough to boost ratings. It was community theater, with Shakespearean bawdy jokes, and a laugh track following every line. It was called That Seventies Show.

  26. middle school high school college

  27. We’re all in this world
    to get good ratings.
    We walk down the street
and wonder if folks in cars
watch us and see our hair
    blow freely in the wind.
    We like to rate others
    every day, their smile,
    voice and above all, their
    intentions. I wish you
    very high ratings.

  29. ratings are really relative.i don’t like ratings.

    by corinnele on 03.21.2012
  30. Why are ratings needed? Just to make people more self cautious then they ever need to be? or to let people know how good things are? Either way… they may be used for simplicity but they just cause more controversy.

    by MakiDoll on 03.21.2012
  31. i feel like everyone is secretly rating me , about everything i do. Just silently judging me , on a scale of 1 to 10. Its scary and unwelcoming. I can always tell whose doing it too. Its not comfortable. Peopleshould stop judging . Im sick of it , for real . Its repulsive

    by Alex on 03.21.2012
  32. they are a judgement of someone’s work by a third person who had nothing to do with creating that work. Also used for television, how many people watch what etc…

  33. Tommy rated the bathroom five stars. It was the year 2067 and all bathrooms had a rating system allowing you to rate the bathroom as you left. Tommy rated it five stars because the stall had an automated newspaper dispenser, a military grade bulletproof door, and a cathedral style sunlight ceiling.

    by Nick F. on 03.21.2012
  34. Ratings come in all shapes and sizes.
    Dots.

    Recommendations.

    Rate me!
    Rate 6/10.
    Two thumbs up!

    Rate.

  35. These are things that show how good thngs are.

  36. ratings are like votes, i think.

  37. They always have it. A rating. As if they can judge what’s appropriate. As if one f*** is cause for concern, cause for anger, cause for deletion.

    by Ali on 03.21.2012
