  16. Everyone one has something ‘sacred.’ Something special to them that they hold dear. Little things that may be cheap or worth so much become priceless for the single or many memories they hold. I hold a few sacred things. The charm I was given when I was born, my grandma’s ring, and the coin I would where around my neck when I felt there was no need to go on. They hold memories I would feel empty without.

  24. Nothing is sacred anymore. Are you kidding me? What are you going to find to worship in this swampland of shopping malls and self-absorption. You’d have to go live out in the woods like Thoreau. You’d have to build something to worship yourself. You’d have to go digging around for idols in forgotten tombs, and even then you’d still feel empty. Sucker.

  36. Toes. Now where the bloody hell did that come from, “toes.” Sacred toes. Now that’s slightly off, I think, but let’s roll with it. Worshipping his toes, perhaps, catching only mere glimpses of them every few months or so. A small treat, something to look forward to in the summer months when shoes and socks are shed. Perhaps in the morning, when he’s wrapped up in a robe or a sheet, wandering barefoot until he reaches the tea kettle and scurries back into his room.
