  3. people sacrifice on a daily basis. firefighters and cops and soldiers. i don’t sacrifice anything. i’m selfish. what can i possibly do to make a difference? i’m such a failure, but i don’t know how to change anything about it. whether you believe in religion or not…. some people believe that jesus made the ultimate sacrifice of all. who would do these things for the common man? i wish i could.

  4. Sacrifising is like a cake, you have to eat slices and give some slices to other people in order to have friends and a family that loves you forever because you will be a greedy person if you do not give people a slice of cake and eat it all by yourself. It’s like a commitment to sacrifice to other people things that you really like, its liek a talent because some people dont know how to do it.

  5. Sacrifices are terrible. Or very good, it depends on how greedy and self-centered one is. I suppose I am fairly self-sentered since the first thing I wrote was how they are terrible. I don’t want to be self-centered!

  6. what is a selfless sacrifice?
If you’re willing to sacrifice yourself isn’t it for YOUR morals?

    your god?
I’m going to sacrifice everything I’d sacrifice myself for.
    stop the cycle.

  10. ok

  11. So it’s not as if I’ve never given something up, but it’s never been anything huge. You’re my best friend and my lover and I don’t think you know how much I’d give up for you in a heartbeat. Honest. I wouldn’t flinch either. I hope you think the same.

    by Vicki on 10.29.2011
  12. The problem with a sacrifice is letting the other know it’s a choice you are making. Saying, “I’m sacrificing for you” is basically saying, “I don’t want to do this but I will. I expect something in return later.” A true sacrifice is a secret and an end to something, not a means to an end in the form of a favor.

  13. the only thing I have to offer this world is my undying gratitude to have spent a life, for the most part without sacrifice, full of fantastic experiences and encounters.

  15. Man it is really hard to give up things you want. You don’t even think about wanting these things on a day to day basis and so you think you need them. But really you probably don’t. You could live in a deer skin in the side of a hill if you tried, but you won’t. And some people still don’t have water. You selfish whore.

  16. Every muscle in my body ached, and I lay on my back staring up at the smoggy sky. Gilliad had sacrificed everything. He sacrificed everything for me. I knew he loved me, but i didn’t know if he had convinced himself. Everything he said and did made me come to that conclusion.

  17. My sanity is my greatest sacrifice, but for you I lose it over and over.

  18. whenever you have something u can’t imagine to give away, you simply give it away wiht your whole heart for someone you truly love. whatever that item is. love is never something you can abanom, you need to embrace it, and know you have it. <3

  19. Sacrifice is something you do out of love, for the ones you love!! So you sacrifice the things you LOVE! Sacrificing is one of the hardest things to do, but also one of the greatest!!

  20. “I will not offer to the Lord that which costs me nothing”

    2 Samuel 24:24

  21. i spend m,y entire life doin what i think needs to be done never doing what i want thats scrifice. i spelled that wrong for the sake of time, now thats sacrifice as well. how much time do i have left. theres just this little bar moving at the bottom. id sacrifice my finger for an explanation.

  22. His only option was this. This one thing. His only escape and reason to live. She begged him not to do it- but he knew it was the only option. This. one. option. And with that. He jumped.

  23. Bones. Old, crumbling, off-white bones. That’s what archeologists are searching for beneath the muggy heat.

  24. “don’t worry man, it’s a sacrifice we need to make,” he grinned, shooting his partner a smug look. his sidekick shifted. “i–i don’t know, why…why do we even–”

“shut up, shut up~” the driver sang, easily spinning the steering wheel and merging into the next lane. “it’s just one girl, you know. one girl and we’ll be in.” the passenger whimpered and melted lower into his seat. “i don’t wanna kill anyone.” “it’s just a sacrifice, jeez,” he groaned, “it’s not even like she’s real.” “…okay.”

  25. Sometimes in the life you have to sacrafice things, like I have to either hang out with one best friend or the other becuse they don’t really like each other very much, but it’s not fair because I love them both dearly and it hurts that they don’t get along with each other and they are both lovely girls. In the times of the aztecs, mayans, and incans they would sacrifice themselves to their god. i cannot think of why a god or deity would want you to kill yourself for them, but whatever floats your boat i guess, their religions and rituals have always intrigued me.

  26. The sacrifice lay across white marble alter. Her skin was just as pale and just as cold, red trails ran down her body fleeing a body no longer with life. They were searching hopelessly for another living thing to inhabit, to pump through over and over again, to find another warm heart they could kiss. Her tears were frozen, her fingers faint blue. The ice princess, the people in the dark shadows of the room whispered. Yes, she was their ice princess now, beautifully dead dripping red.

  27. What is a sacrifice? In ancient times,it occurred in human form as offertories to the gods – they felt as though they were almost feeding them and doing good by killing fellow people. But in a wider context, normal people make sacrifices very single day in everything they do. If we make a decision to do something or go somewhere, we are always sacrificing the chance to do something or go somewhere else.

    by Shane Hannon on 10.29.2011
  28. The sacrifice was there. Unsaid, though Lia knew all too well what her friends were doing for her. She would pay them back some day. One day. She would never forget this.

  29. nothing comes to mind,
    but you.
    our love.
and how it felt to walk away.

  30. God. The end. Everything. it is difficult. it is the hardest thing you will ever have to face in your life but it is worth it shows dedication it shows commitment. it is everything. anything. all hard work. all pain. but all happiness comes from it. everything good comes from it. it saves.

    by Emily Lacina on 10.29.2011
  31. to sacrifice is to give up your desires. Sacrificing is giving up something you own, have, or love because of there is something else of greater importance to you. Or maybe you simply just value something more. or maybe you’re being forced to by a parent.

    by Shawn on 10.29.2011
  32. she made a choice. it wasn’t much of a choice. she had to die to be able to live. conflicts and contradictions. she was always one step closer to a paradox and she had to play a careful game of neither here nor there. this was her end. but also her beginning.

    by De Rop on 10.29.2011
  37. We all make sacrifices in life. Most for love, because we care about the person and we want what is best for them, always. Sacrifices are funny things because there can be limits to just how many sacrifices a person can make, there is a limit to selflessness. We can’t all be noble all the time.

  38. losing everything means nothing

    by pravinrswami on 10.29.2011
  39. sacrifice. lambs. poor lambs. i never understood that. why does killing something else reestablish reaffirm rewhatever someone’s “faith”? or “commitment”? it doesn’t make sense. “i would do anything for you, including ‘kill this lamb’. watch me, see?”

  40. There was a sacrifice of the conscience earlier today when a drunken man stumbled his way over to some railroad tracks and decided to sleep there for the night. When he woke up and found that his legs had been removed from the knees down, he sought out the very train that was responsible. His conscience had become comatose the night before, so it was not there to warn him of the consequences of facing down a full-sized Amtrak until he was flying in three pieces across town.
