  4. Scarves can be beautiful. They can have a lot of colors or they can have just one. They also hide people from the outside world. Scarves can hide beauty that no one gets to see. It’s a shame.

  6. Worn around your neck like a noose, swinging in the wind until your neck is warm…or broken. I feel departed from my thoughts. Swords and knives have a similar effect….Once the threads of life are pulled apart they then keep blood vessels separated.

  10. Scarves are warm, cozy. Like a hug. But there’s always that one scarf that is too warm, too itchy, too everything. It’s not a hug; it’s more of a chokehold. Sometimes you feel as if you don’t decide when the scarf comes off. The scarf decides when it’s finished with you.

  11. I have too many scarves in my closet. They are taking over. What shall I do with them all? Perhaps I will donate them to Goodwill. Perhaps I should give them to the cancer ward in the hospital. Maybe I will give them away as gifts to other people. No, today I will keep all of my scarves. They remind me of my own battle with the deadly disease called cancer.

  12. why does a long piece of material have to be named with something that reminds me i have a very long scar on my foot? Why scar? the v doesnt help it makes it sound much more sharp and cutting. Of course it is plural making it sound like a big scary scarred man who would kill me with a jagged knife.

  13. One day little Jimmy was snooping around his mothers dresser drawers when he found her fancy scarves folded neatly with one of them wrapped around this hotdog looking thing that he took out to his tree fort.

The next day all you hear is this…”JIMMY!!!…where’s my perfume bottle?”

  14. An Apple is not complete without it’s core, nor an egg without it’s yolk. Every coat needs a scarf. A coat without a scarf, is a girl without a best friend.

  15. Warmth, winter, coats, snowing, lovely cute boys holding my hand in their beautiful scarves. The furry ones that make me itchy. The wonderful bright spring and summer ones that you can play with at the beach, and pretend you’re flying with.

  16. A great accessory, scarves bring to mind Audrey Hepburn, old movies, convertibles. I also love wearing scarves and big earrings. It has been my dream to have an Hermes scarf. They are the most collectible accessory and such a painless purchase. I absolutely love finding another great scarf.

  18. scarves wrapped around the necks of old ladies wool silk felt they make one think of fall though equally usefully in spring and summer and even in the summer a light scarf for shade

  19. used to wear them all the time in New York when I lived there and miss them since living in San Diego. It was and still is a fun fashion accessory that I only loved showing off different colors. They seem to bring out an extra ‘life’ in you when they are worn. And of course, flowing scarves in the wind…who can resist that?

  20. SCARVES :not only does circumstancial evidence seemingly suggest otherwise, but our own instincts shout against this theory as well.

  21. Keeps you warm. Between your collar bones and chin. Neck. Decorative, decoration. Fleece, satin, silk, cotton, wool. Diverse.

  22. scarves wound like butterflies around the necks of the old ladies, tatters floating in the wind like drifting wings. Their soft voices coo together as a flock of olding doves, and they share their memories, their little grievances, the tiny things that let them know life is still with them, still urging them on. And the sound of their feet on the tarmac is shuffling, slow, uneven, they are nearing their destination as the wind picks up their scarves.

  25. The scarf wrapped itself tighter around my neck as I sturggled to break free. In front of me he was looking out at the sea, the sun just sinking below the waves. Slowly he turned, noticing my situation. His bitter scoff was the last thing I heard as I faded away into nothing.

  26. Hiding behind our silver scarves, eyes turned skyward as snow descends from the heavens. The glittering flakes dust our eyelashes. Our gloved hands squeeze tighter together and we move closer. Winter has a way of removing boundaries; between earth and sky; between each other.

  27. Some kids played video games, others ran from soccer practice to tap dance. I knit. My mother sewed, but when my grandmother moved in with us after she was diagnosed with cancer, in those few precious months we had together, she and I would sit together in the attic and knit things. While she would knit sweaters and stuffed toys, I would knit scarves. I thought that a sweater was a waste of time. However, scarves let me unleash my imagination in complicated cables and other patterns quickly with little chance to mess up.

  28. Scarves are brilliantly colored and keep me warm during the bitter winter months. I wonder if a scarf could hide my dissatisfaction, with its brightly colored prints, of my current situation?

    thinking they seems pretentious

  32. scarves….. they keep your neck all warm and junk. if its cold outside then u can wear a scarf or scarves!!!!!!!!! scarves are warm and FUZZY!!!!!!!

  33. Why do we use scares? To keep our necks warm? What’s the point of that? In general we also use it to cover out faces but that usually doesn’t work either because they just fall of or bunch up or get spit on them and then freeze. Ultimately they are a fairly useless accessory.

  35. Scars. They hurt. They leave their mark. They leave a memory, forever. Scars can be wore as scarves. They can be pretty when worn properly and proudly, or wrong and look hideous and huge mistake shown clearly to everyone.

  36. Lauren has many scarves in may colors. In fact, she thought about getting a rack to hold all of her scarves, they overflowed light multi colored…well, I guess scarves. I own one scarf. I’m relatively sure that Lauren has worn it twice as much as I have. That’s my job, giving Lauren another scarf.

  37. Are for cold weather , but are beautiful accessories as well. They are expensive, but worth the cost. Hermes makes lovely scarves for around 250.00.

  38. multiple. colourful. beautiful scarves, used for what? small trinkets of appreciation, i need none of it, tell me simply how you feel. but i’d like a scarf anyways. altruistic i feel so often but i need some assurance occasionally.

  39. crap. Still scarves. one can scarf up a meal. Or is it scarf down?? No, it must be up. But funny, the food goes down — down down down and then out.

I wear scarves. I like them long and dramatic. Like that famous dancer. She died because of a scarf.

  40. are there no other words to write about? is the one word forever only scarves? can I drop the first “s” and write about carves? Such as my mother carves the chicken really badly and sticks her fingers into the meat and then her mouth and I think it is disgusting? It really grosses my husband out.
