The silken threads of night wove through the forest branches, as slivers of moonlight gave every leaf a translucent emerald glow.

God I hate silk. Its deceptively soft. Deciever. Some would say manipulative, tricking you into thinking it came from somewhere pleasant when it instead was ejected from a worms anus just to get what it wants: REVENGE.
By Paranoid on 08.24.2011
i remember being in brazil at a beautiful girl’s home. she got her looks from her mother. they both paraded around in silk robes and i thought it romantic, magical, a perfect materialization of their beauty.
By Laney on 08.24.2011
Silk, a word synonymous with luxury and grandeur. The epitome of wealth and class status. A commodity product and the staple of the east. The product of the silk worm. Silk, an almost onomatopoeic word to describe the svelte smoothness of the product it describes.
By Luca on 08.24.2011

Silk is a soft fabric that caresses my fingers everytime I touch. It is often expensive as it is a delicate fabric. I enjoy the smooth feel. Bed sheets and pillow cases are made in silk. Spiders webs are made of a silk substance.

Her hands were silk, sliding down his arm to hold onto his battered hand. He lay stationary. She blinked, removing the water that had collected at the front of her eyes. Looking towards the door, she saw an older woman, holding a bunch of flowers. They were beautiful, summery flowers, filling the outside room with joy, though the face holding them immediately overshadowed any joy.

By Prarthu on 08.24.2011
Silk is the most wonderful material ever. Pattu pudavai we call it in tamil. The soft touch of teh shiny material adorned by the ladies can make more than one head turn, just for a glimpse of the beautiful silk saree. The maamis (married iyer women) gossping about the wonderful silk sarees on the other maamis and going gaga over their splendor.

Silk is not merely a type of cloth. It is a realm of texture, coolness, and soothing. Silk is pure fashion, beauty, and style.

The cool drink ran down the boy’s throat like the finest silk. He was parched from the lomg day spend going from museum to museum with his parents. “This is not a holiday” he thought.

“Haven’t you finished that yet? It is as if you are spinning a rope to the moon.”
“Mom, I am trying but you keep interrupting.” Scratching himself, tapping his foot and twisting the stool left and right did not help. The thread of his concentration had been broken.
“James,” she said. “You were going to help me tie up the silk ribbons for the maypole. Are you coming now?”
“Didn’t know you were ready. I wasn’t spinning my wheels. It was a new idea I had and now it has gone. I might as well go to the moon.”

Not silk again! It’s the same word I had before. I may be in a repetitive time spiral and am dammed to write about the same topic all my life. On the other hand, it’s funny. This piece of writing has nothing to do with the other I wrote before.

Silk comes from Silk worms… and it also feels bloody nice to touch when it’s made into a material. I once made a pillow case from silk at school, stuffed it right up by over-locking over the whole thing. The machine just went rogue on me. I’ve never sewn much again. Anyway, silk’s pretty cool.
By Viv on 08.24.2011
Silk is so smooth, the closest possible thing to be smooth as silk is the gentle smoothness of an angel
Silk oh how smooth you truly are, with such elegance and beauty.
How jealous i am of you Silk.

She had always liked the feel of silk on her skin. It made her feel luxurious and pampered, as though she was a princess stuck in a tower, guarded by a ferocious dragon and awaiting her prince charming. Unfortunately her tower was a much more metaphorical one and a place no prince charming could rescue her from.

Creates fine clothing. Can be made from a silk worm, and is very attractive in various shapes and sizes. Silk is a very expensive type of clothing made originally from china. That is why when europeans went to trade with china and india the roads were called the silk roads, because not only did it bring back silk but also spices, and other goods. Silk was a traditional type of clothing in china, india, and japan.

Silk is soft and smooth. It is used in many fabrics. It heats up quickly. It looks nice. It feels nice. I have only seen it in a black or grey blend. Silk is not much sought after any more. Few people still wear silk that I know of.

I’ve heard that silk is a tremendous material if you want to be an assassin. I don’t particularly find this line of work appealing but it would be nice to be able to move around silently in your silk apparel.
