  1. Beautiful. The way that I feel when I am close to the person I love. Under the covers, my blankets. My favorite bra and underwear. Soft, butterfly. Feeling refreshed, revitalized, and cool.

  2. I have a silk scarf that I like to wear all over the place. This silk scarf makes me feel like a princess for gosh sakes. I love its white texture and how it makes me feel all soft and warm and pretty at the same time. SO I have more then one in my house and I hope you get a silk scarf too. I love it more than anything. I love it all the time. I love it more then cheese. I don’t think that you understand the severity of how much this scarf means to me. I plan on one day leaving this beautiful scarf to my children. It belonged to my Grandmother and she had it before from her mother. I mean this is an old silk scarf and maybe one day I can sell it for a lot of money. Hah. I am just kidding. I just joke a lot of my silk scarf.

  6. It’s a silk running river all blue and shining and rippling in the sunlight. It’s a clear picture; the sky is so pale it’s almost white and the clouds are wisps, babies’ breaths on an open canvas that stretches above us. I’m holding your hand. We’re lying in the grass that’s lush as velvet. We’ve got stitched smiles. We’ve got glass buttons for eyes. We’re perfect as porcelain dolls.

  7. silk. an unusual material running against her body… its almost to good to be true as it holds her, comforts her, eases her, oohh how i long to be that silk.
to feel her velvet skin, to smell her luscious body… or even to be silk’s friend just so he can tell me all the details i want.
yes, its a strange thought that i myself am bewildered to have, but i will never forget the day i envied silk.

  10. It was like warm ice slipping through my fingers, it’s shine caught my eye like an ocean dancing silently against the horizon. It’s weight was nonexistant in my hands I thought if I let go it would simply stop existing all otgether. The details in the fabric were perfect, no flaw could be seen as I laid it out on the table, being careful not to let it catch on the rough wooden surface.

    by Emma on 08.23.2011

to play dead. the sheets creased in all the right places,

under the silence my steady heartbeats guided you away,

if you walked any further would i not be
    invisible to you?

    then softly, but not unkindly,
    you laughed.

I could remember my childhood, and brushing against the silk skirts of the women at the market place, their soft folds mixing with the exciting and tempting scents of the market. 29. The fabric rippled beneath her fingertips, seeming to create a wave of crimson. It was the finest thing she had ever touched in her entire life….and it would fetch her a great price on the market. With deft hands, she plucked the material and slid it into her satchel. She walked away just fast enough not to be noticed, but quick enough to get out of the merchants sight. She was at least half a block away when she heard his angry bellows. She smiled, that is what it took to be a master thief in Andel.

  32. I don’t know if I’ve ever really felt genuine silk. I mean, how does one tell the difference between silk and satin? Satin is simply a less luxurious silk, right? Silk is meant to be worn by princesses and queens; I’m just a mere girl.

    by Kay on 08.23.2011
  33. Silk, obviously, is a material. Made by silkworms. Weird, that. I’m so conditioned to thinking that fabrics come from plants that the fact that something I wear was more or less pooped out by a little worm is pretty alien.

  39. The trading post was filled with various fine silks, but none were of interest to Aloysius. He was there not for the more aesthetically pleasing varieties, but for the single scrap of enchanted cloth that was arranged to have been present there. It was a small piece of silk, of a faint purple color, and glowing with a barely perceptible paleness.
