Her body was slight but her spirit was mighty. She struggled to speak, the oxygen maskhindering her ability to talk and force sound to come out of her mouth.

I collapse on my bed, cocoon myself in the covers, and just lie there. Breathing. Thinking. Such an odd thing to do on a Saturday night. It's already been 3 weeks since we last spoke, and he's still all I ever think about. As each day passes, I continue to realize that I have less and less confidence in my ability to get over him. No confidence at all. Not in even in the slightest.

I feel slightly slighted when you catch me in your sight and sidle away,
and I feel increasingly insulted when you intentionally incriminate me and incarcerate my innocence.

There was another slight chance that today will turn out to be the most positive experience of my life. Or I hope I think so. The feeling of Friday mornings are bittersweet when one has a fast life to live before they transition to adulthood.

Slight of hand, isn't that what they say? It has something to do with card players or card tricks or people with butterfingers who drop things and catch them at the last minute. But it feels like the way I can't hold on to you, the way I turn around and you're gone even though I swear you were there a second ago. You're a magician, you know that? With the way you keep tricking me into thinking that you're going to stay.

The stick was cranked into the air and abruptly hauled down onto the ice. Once it made contact with the puck it went soaring towards the goalie. He raised his glove to catch the flying saucer, but to no avail. It sailed over his glove ever so slightly, and into the net.

It was the look in her eye that made me suspicious. She seemed to enjoy our company and acted pleasant all the while, but it was the slight glance now and then of distrust and superiority that made me question her friendliness.

There was something slightly different about her. The blank look in her eyes, revealing no emotions and not thoughts on the manner. And the eyes themselves; sparkling and green, they reminded me of x-ray scanners that would read me and all of my secrets.
