Don’t slouch, my Mom used to say. Stand up straight. Stomach in, chest out–it will get a girl far in this world. And, sad or happy to say, she was right. More about the
confidence part. You take on the world. You stride into a place and your stance says,
Hey world, I’m here.

Slouch means to bend over above the waist and it usually gives you a kink in you neck and back.

Most people have a slouch in their back. Maybe it just feels comfortable to them. But a few people walk straight. Doing that is really good for your back. I’ve tried it, it feels good.

I slouch down while my dad and grandma lecture to me about it is not nice to throw rocks at people or call people names or hit people but the thing is, I was only defending myself.
By breanna r on 12.02.2011
To slouch is to lack confidence. People who slouch have no faith in themselves, unless they have chronic back pain and can’t stand upright or sit straight. I remember when I was a little kid my parents always told me to sit up straight and not to slouch

I was slouched over the desk while doing my math homework. It was hard. The questions were all in scientific notation, and I have to bring them into their normal form before doing any work, because I can’t do math in scientific notation. I was on the last problem, when the wind blew it away…

Being lazy and not wanting to do anything. Not having a good posture when sitting or standing. It can cause back pains if you slouch around to much.
By dbereza666 on 12.02.2011
I slouch when Im sad.
You slouch when your mad.
We all slouch at some point.
So don’t let the world slouch.

i have a headache.
i don’t want to move.
everything just feels like a dream
that wah-wah noise is in the back of my head
stop talking nonsense
and i just want-
is that so much?
even though i am sitting
so i’ll just slide further into my chair
and stare at the tiled ceiling and fluroscent lights-pounding headache; i hate you
people say prison-
i say its the only place adults put you in a building full of hormonic and ready to explode with feeling type people you’re age and DARE you to leave.
i’ll give you one guess as to where i am slouching in my chair.

I entered the room. “Stop slouching, young lady!” yelled my grandmer. Stupid, old, ancient bag. I straightened my posture as she =about the room. I huffed and thought about how much I hate it here. She’ll never understand me. If only my parents were still alive, things just might be different.

The boy slouched in his chair, hoping the teacher wouldn’t call on him. He didn’t know the answer, wasn’t even sure what the fuck they were talking about, and he didn’t like talking front of other people anyway. His hands played nervously with his pencil, twirling it around and around. He heard someone giggle and glanced to his left where a girl was watching him.

Stand up straight! I was tall and felt uncomfortable. Slouching allowed me to blend, slouching was comfortable because without it I felt awkward and exposed.

the appearance of not
giving a crap about what you

it could be
that they’re just confident
all that you don’t.

slacker, lazy, doesn’t care…I think people are low when they slouch, it is so bad for your back. I think that people will have back problems if they slouch by the time they are 20 if they do it all day, people don’t have enough posture anymore.

He leaned against the wall, legs sliding out as he seemed to just melt. The cold walls fought to keep him awake, rooted in this world. “Stupid…. caves….” He slouched further down, crumpling into a heap as his body lost the will to continue. Clutching his wound, blood poured over his fingers not adhering to his attempts of stopping it. Golden eyes cast about the tunnel, stone floors surrounding him like some sort of manifestation of his life of emotionless surroundings. A flash of /his/ face darted through his mind. Not so emotionless life.

her back was that of a crooked tree, with peeled bark, the skin of an onion. both of her arms were broken, and laid by each side. “what was the matter?” I asked, but she responded with a lift of her chin and a sigh of an hundred year old tree – rings under her eyes.

don’t you dare slouch. sit up straight, walk as tall as you can. it does no one any good to have bad posture. you look so much more professional when you pull your shoulders down and back and lift your chin upwards. in fact you look even more lovely right now than i can ever remember you looking.

“Don’t slouch,” my grandmother always says. I usually reply with, “I’m not slouching.” However, I do agree with her that plenty of people slouch way too much and they must realize that one day they are all going to have horrible posture if they don’t stop now.
By Teeps on 12.02.2011
Slouching is leaning back in your chair. I believe that it is a sign of laziness, boredom, and overall rudeness, especially when it is occurring in a classroom. The way a person sits also tells others a lot about them. It can allow someone to believe that you are lazy, perky, excited, sleepy, attentive, rude, etc. slouching can give someone an idea about you that may last with them forever, therefore slouching can be extremely dangerous.

All teachers hate when you sit like this. It makes people think that you dont care and could have better things to do, and that makes them made because it’s your job to be there.

It was the last day of school. The teacher was just droning on and on about nothing. I slouched in my chair daydreaming and waiting for 2:30 to come. I couldn’t wait run out of this prison and for the paradise of summer to begin. Ding ding ding!!!! Schools out!!!!

I like to slouch in class but I’m pretty sure it’s part of why my lower back is bothering me so much, recently. I just… You know how comfortable it is, just to sit rounded over like a C, just let gravity do its work and pull your body into submission.
Except when I’m walking around, now, I’ve gotten rid of that slouch, mostly. I walk like there’s something wrong, like I’m going to fix it. Like there’s someone I’m planning on catching in the cookie jar, and getting the right end of.
