specific things, specific times, places, needs, words, thoughts. In place, on time, a specific way. Don’t be that way, don’t be so together. Too together. A hassle. Specificity. That’s not a word. I’m here, you’re there. Where? Not somewhere, there.

details make my head spin. I hate being specific because I have such a god awful memory I feel pressure to write here! ah it is the same feeling as if someone were to ask me to go into deeper detail and be specific. Ah. I actually do enjoy writing though. Just not like this.
By Claire on 03.02.2011
i’m not particular about specifics, but when it comes to work–writing and translation–i tend to be specific. but then being specific is different from being particular, i think. but being specific is always worth trust.
By Kaorita on 03.02.2011
Specific needs of my life: Books, my computer, some food, some water, a bed, and fanfiction, and the dreams which I want to come true. I don’t need much to survive. But those are the specifics of my life. :D

nothing specific pops out to me on this word :)

There was one specific rule we all had to follow. Not following it would lead us to a bad situation. It turns out I decided to break that rule. After my whole life of being told not to, I finally decided to give it a try. That maybe wasn’t such a good idea, but oh well.

The thing wasn’t just there – it was, well, IT. Nobody could put it more succinctly – there was simply a thing that couldn’t be any other thing. And it was beautiful – oh, yes: a perfect sculpture of rose against lime; a stunning example of the definite.

Specific is interesting word. Some of the most commonly used words are unspecific- beauty, pain, pleasure, love. Beauty cannot be defined at all, there is beauty everywhere according to the general definition. Life is beautiful, people are beautiful, women and men, things are beautiful.

“Be specific, don’t be broad. Tell me of your wildest dreams, your deepest desires,” the doctor said. “What do you see when you close your eyes, or when you dream at night?”

I like to be as specific as possible when I explain things to others. I wish that more people would be specific when explaining things to me that I don’t understand. I need as many examples as possible in order to do what they want me to do the right way. Specificity really helps me out and I appreciate it a lot.

Sometimes, you need things to be specific. Especially when you’re trying to make a decision. Specificity makes things special. To be a certain kind, and not any other. I think morning isn’t good for thinking tasks. I like specificity most of the time.

I specifically don’t remember this word! :)
Glad I decided to do this. <– not specific.
But, I still am glad I did it. :)
oneword.com is getting better by the day. :)

What exactly do you mean? What exactly do you want? Who are you talking about? Specifically, what do you mean? Does it even matter? What is the point being specific when you can simply be vague. Be vague, and no harm can come except for the annoying phrase: Be specific!

specific. hm.. what can i say? to be honest, or to be specific about a topic i can tell you this. i have no idea what i want in life. none. at all. i do whatever i want. but not in a good way. i just dont know. i try. specifically in everything. i try to please who ever i meet. to make them happy. but what the fuck is ever going to make me happy? i have no idea. i want to know. i wish i knew.

Specific is what my feelings never are. It is what my dreams avoid, especially when I just awake. Specific is what the solution to the problem isn’t and the words to describe my foggy confusion can’t be. Specifically distant. Specifically vague. Specific isn’t.
By Colleen Schilly on 03.02.2011
to be specific, you must go into as much detail as possible. one time i was very specific in describing what i ate for breakfast. i had oatmeal with chunky peanut butter, cinnamon, bananas, and brown sugar mixed with it. it was delicious and i love oatmeal.

Out in these hills and valleys, keeping secrets was not such a slog- prohibition was rife in the cities, sobriety numbing the creativity of a generation- the Moonshine that Old Jim Tucker was a-brewin had suffcient specific gravity that a common mouse’d weigh damn near the same as an elephant (in gravity terms). Just had to hope the rivets of the still would hold this time.

This is all I ever hear from my professors. Be specific. Write an image. Image image imagine imagism. Symbolism symbiotics symbols images imagine an image but BE SPECIFIC. Nobody wants to read your fluff. Get to the point and get out.

Specifically, and technically, we only sing when we want to.
And how can you turn back a song,
That comes straight from the soul?
Specifically, you are my love,
My love could never die.
By Lincoln G URL on 03.02.2011
being specific is too difficult for most humans. they are slow stupid people and being specific is a waste of time to them. if you get the vague idea, you get the main idea. Only to some.
By Savannah on 03.02.2011
She was looking for something specific. She walked down the aisles, scoured the entire store, walked the city, going from store to store… all for what? No one knew. Each and every Saturday she left her home and bothered the urban setting with her eccentricity and randomness. No one knew what she was looking for.
No one knew, of course, but her.

That certain one. Sometimes its hard to specify, sometimes its hard to describe, and sometimes specific is just darn hard to pronounce. That particular one, not any other. That’s just the way I want it. As I say. Specific.

high and specific
wandering through the branches
to find the certain thing
that certain thin that makes you twing
that twing that sends you into oblivion
doing it is never by luck or chance
it is all staged for the better for your choice
for your world to make sense to your satisfaction

Specifics are too complex.
You ask for specific? I give you details of me, bits of my life that you didn’t want to hear.
But sage-girl, I want specific you, not just the basics. I want your everything.
Tell me just a few more stories? It’s not too specific, for you, for me…
By Seneca S. URL on 03.02.2011
what is specific? What is to specify? is explaining something overly detailed too specific? Are people capable of being specific without making someone feel unintelligent? What would be considered specific if you had to specify a specific situation?
By Crystal on 03.02.2011
Why can’t we be specific and focused, generalizing makes less knowledge available to more people. I want to be able to ask someone that knows, not everyone that knows a little.
By Molly on 03.02.2011
don’t be. there’s nothing specific about specificity. specificity. my new favorite word.
By Elissa on 03.02.2011
You’re so specific. And this is a different you , by the way. About a different boy. Everything about you is so perfect. Everything about you is so different and I know everything. I want everything you do, with the little details thrown in. Liking someone or loving someone I should say, is the most horrible thing in the world. It opens you up, and they can see everything. It opens you up and they take everything.

Picking through the stacks, turning over every book, which one was she looking for? Soft rays of light cascaded down on her wavy brown hair from the window above the shelves behind her. Will it be that one? or perhaps the worn blue one? but no, it was neither. From my spot at the cash register, I watched her, my head resting on my hand, she’d been in here for awhile, day after day. With this persistence, she wasn’t merely browsing through the stacks, there was something she has been searching for, maybe she’d been looking all her life.

Why so specific? I’ve never known you to be very particular about your taste in ice cream. Why right now? What have you got against ice cream sandwiches? I thought you liked them! Or, at the very least, better than drumsticks. I’ve never seen anyone so particular about what they wanted to eat for a frozen treat. I don’t know why you decided you were only capable of eating mint chocolate chip, but… whatever you want.
