  2. I love when you say my name. Not just “you” or “sweetie”, but Emma. I love when I know you’re thinking specifically of me, talking only to me, loving only me.

    by Emma on 03.02.2011
  3. Why so specific? I’ve never known you to be very particular about your taste in ice cream. Why right now? What have you got against ice cream sandwiches? I thought you liked them! Or, at the very least, better than drumsticks. I’ve never seen anyone so particular about what they wanted to eat for a frozen treat. I don’t know why you decided you were only capable of eating mint chocolate chip, but… whatever you want.

    by Arkie on 03.02.2011

  6. Picking through the stacks, turning over every book, which one was she looking for? Soft rays of light cascaded down on her wavy brown hair from the window above the shelves behind her. Will it be that one? or perhaps the worn blue one? but no, it was neither. From my spot at the cash register, I watched her, my head resting on my hand, she’d been in here for awhile, day after day. With this persistence, she wasn’t merely browsing through the stacks, there was something she has been searching for, maybe she’d been looking all her life.

  7. “Can you hand me that thing? You know the thing that does the stuff and it’s some color, but yea you know the thing right? It’s in the place with the other thing”

    by Molly on 03.02.2011

    of specific
    high and specific
    wandering through the branches
    to find the certain thing
that certain thin that makes you twing
that twing that sends you into oblivion
doing it is never by luck or chance
it is all staged for the better for your choice
for your world to make sense to your satisfaction

Each and every Saturday she left her home and bothered the urban setting with her eccentricity and randomness. No one knew what she was looking for.

No one knew, of course, but her.

  17. being specific is too difficult for most humans. they are slow stupid people and being specific is a waste of time to them. if you get the vague idea, you get the main idea. Only to some.

    by Savannah on 03.02.2011

  20. Out in these hills and valleys, keeping secrets was not such a slog- prohibition was rife in the cities, sobriety numbing the creativity of a generation- the Moonshine that Old Jim Tucker was a-brewin had suffcient specific gravity that a common mouse’d weigh damn near the same as an elephant (in gravity terms). Just had to hope the rivets of the still would hold this time.

  21. to be specific, you must go into as much detail as possible. one time i was very specific in describing what i ate for breakfast. i had oatmeal with chunky peanut butter, cinnamon, bananas, and brown sugar mixed with it. it was delicious and i love oatmeal.

  22. Specific is what my feelings never are. It is what my dreams avoid, especially when I just awake. Specific is what the solution to the problem isn’t and the words to describe my foggy confusion can’t be. Specifically distant. Specifically vague. Specific isn’t.

  25. What exactly do you mean? What exactly do you want? Who are you talking about? Specifically, what do you mean? Does it even matter? What is the point being specific when you can simply be vague. Be vague, and no harm can come except for the annoying phrase: Be specific!

  27. Sometimes, you need things to be specific. Especially when you’re trying to make a decision. Specificity makes things special. To be a certain kind, and not any other. I think morning isn’t good for thinking tasks. I like specificity most of the time.

  34. There was one specific rule we all had to follow. Not following it would lead us to a bad situation. It turns out I decided to break that rule. After my whole life of being told not to, I finally decided to give it a try. That maybe wasn’t such a good idea, but oh well.
