  2. Personal statements are so hard to write. I want to show who I am without coming off as arrogant- which I also am. I want people to know that I’m good enough for whatever position I’m applying for- be it a graduate role or a masters. I know I’m good enough- I just need them to see that. And that’s what a statement is to me. I need to make a statement about myself. It’s not enough to be good enough, you have to prove how good enough you really are.

  7. She knew she was making a statement. Though she couldn’t be bother to care what that exactly was. To her, the dark makeup that rimmed her eyes acted as protection from the world. Her tough exterior kept her safe and guarded from those who only would hurt her. She was unbreakable, that was her statement.

  15. What an awful statement to make. It shook her to her core to have to say it aloud. She tried to start forming the words, and then tried to speak them. But having to tell someone this was not going to be easy.

  19. I think that many things can make a statement. How we dress, what we say, what we do all make statements about what we think and what we stand for. A sentence is a statement. A sentence is something that usually isn’t long but has the potential to say a lot. That is what a statement does. It can say something simple but with a heavy truth.

  24. statement is kind of judgmental word. it sounds like a command as oppose to a request. something that sounds like whats done is done and there’s no turning back. stating something requires a certain perspective that one must have faith in.

  26. The statement heard was disastrous, a couple shock to me – how could I get a D in language arts! That was my best subject, and more importantly, my favorite subject. I looked up at the teacher in shock, half expecting her to burst out laughing and admit that it was a joke.

  31. The statement “I Love You” is heard and said a lot. I say it to my dad every day. My step mom and brother too. I wish I could say it to my real mom again. And my grandma. I wish I had a guy to say it to, and for him to say it to me. I’m quite lonely actually. I’ll find someone eventually.

  32. I’d like to think that I never have anything to say…That is so not the truth. Everything that comes out of my mouth is a statement about SOMETHING. I am opinionated and loud. Welcome to my world. The world you think you would like to live in but once you’re there you’re like REALLY do you have to have something to say about everything?   33. It’s easy to not pay attention first thing in the morning, especially when you’re used to everyone wearing black and white (penguins spring to mind, but, no, we’re students). Eventually they realized that a number of students had inconspicuous rainbow ribbons pinned to our shirts. And today was when the new archbishop was coming for mass.

  36. She wears nose rings the size of onion rings and clothes with no logos, she stays upate working on slogans like “I’d rather be naked than wear fur,” and she absolutely hates meat. She gets in trouble with the teachers cause she cuss and shout when she has an opinion, but it’s not profanity that she promotes but the cruelty that society is blind to when it comes to certain rights. Its simple but difficult to watch, its bold and may cost her normalacy points but at least it gets her statement across. And she smiles.

  38. From the bank, or a person you greatly admire. A politician with some bad news, or good? I have made many, often unqualified, usually forgotten but rarely regretted. Cannot remember very many which important, actually…
