being strong has nothing to do with what you accomplish, but how sane and happy you are by the end of it all. the strongest woman I ever met was 96 years old.

i have the strength
to overcome the adversity
that laughs in my tears
and smiles when i fall
but you see
i have gotten back up
i am up
because i am
and i have the strength

I hate talking about strengths at job interviews. They are the most pretentious topics I can ever think of. “What’s your biggest strength?” “List your three strengths.” Human beings are made of weaknesses and failures, and that’s a beautiful part of life. We know what we are capable of and what our limits are. Why do we need to boast to the world about some superficial excuses to feel good about ourselves?

Very Tough, You Need It To Lift Things, Very Strong, You Can Be Weak, Hard, Soft, Football, Baseball, you need it, heavy,

The strength of man is in it’s ingenuity. Man can adapt to almost any situation or habitat by simply creating something to help them survive. the world would be a different place today if we were able to preform the tasks of industry that allow us to inhabit the remotest part of the planet earth.

The rain was coming down stronger than they had ever experineced before. The sound was thunderous and amazing, like a giant crushing the world with one mighty blow. The world was strong. And they were realizing that with every terrible gust of wind, and every rain drop that came closer to destroying them.

He had to build his strength up. There was no other option. If he wanted even the slightest chance with this girl, he had to become stronger. He needed to become more straightforward, more bold, more obvious; but not too blunt.

We are strong, amazing people ready to seek and be part of this world. In strength we learn to accept one another and the abilities we each have in a way that challenges us to be better people. In this ever changing world, we are strong and find strength in our own lives by being true to ourselves.

Something that’s a lot of the time lacked. Wish there were more. People say, “oh, but you ARE good at [insert something I'm seemingly good at],” but there’s alwaysssss someone better.

Strength is the ability to be washed away but always return to who you are. Strength is in the eternal sunlight of the heart despite the breaking. Strength is the ability to admit failure but keep your chin up. Strength is holding someone else together in the midst of your own doubt and confusion and anxiety.
Strength is not losing yourself in someone else’s game.
By Tessa on 04.05.2011
Strength is not about being physically strong. i think too many people, especially men, try to overcompensate in their lives by lifting weights and bulking up. That is not what strength is. I think strength comes from experience. Strength comes from taking risks, and coming out of the other side.
By Chris on 04.05.2011
my family. myself. the only way to get through life…. everything. not everyone has true strength. not only physical. mental is more important. you have to be strong for yourself and those who matter to you.

But I have no upper body strength. Absolutely none. But a lot of the times, I can actually lift whatever I please. But that’s only cool because my parents can’t lift what I’m lifting, but then, they’re 60.
Strength exists in numbers, in community, as well as in self. Sometimes, it takes a negative event to make us realize the strength within us, and to build ourselves up from it. Strength is something we all possess, though it manifests itself differently to all of us. Strength is what keeps us going, and is what we gain from every negative experience of our lives. We feel strengthened by these experiences, proving that nothing bad occurs without something good.

something that one strives for to develop personally, to gain from others, to give to others. unreliable yet unparalleled when achieved. cultivated throughout a lifetime. strength is what keeps the human race going through the varieties of life. the big things, the small things, the everyday nuisances. it comes from within and carries you forward.
By Jen URL on 04.05.2011
strength is something we all hope for. The strength to deal with comes next, we never know what comes but it will test us, our resolve our strength. It it ourselves we must rely on in the end, not gods, or kings, or country.

I don’t know if I’m strong enough-
strong enough to stand up to the insults, the stares, the questions.
Why am I like this? Why am I the person who I am?
I’m meant to be bold, and out-there, and undeniably me. But being me scares me to death.

Have you ever lost somebody, gave up, then got up off your feet? That’s the essence of strength. You don’t start off being strong, you build on it, and build on it, until you have it in you to move forward everyday, taking the good with the bad, and loving life for what it is.

is something that everyone has but not everyone knows how to use it. it will being you lots of happiness once you discover how to use it. it is good and its bad, because you can use it or you can abuse it. many people think that others are have more but I think it has been distributed equally.

I am woman. I am strong.
I can do all that the man can do. The man that tossed me into the trash. The man that took me for granted and threw me to the curb. I have as much strength as he. I have more.
He cannot hurt me.
I am woman. I am strong.
He cannot hurt me.

Strength is when you don’t want to do something, but you do it anyway.
Strength is having something terribly wrong going on, but dealing with it in a way which makes you stronger.
Strength is when you go out of your boundaries and what you think you can do in order to achieve something you strive for.
Wish I had some…

To listen to my own voice

I had to have strength. I knew that once i told him there was no way anyone could trust me anymore. But i did it not for me but to save them because without me there is no way they could have stayed in the country any longer. So i took a deep breath gathered my strength and told the truth.

She had the strength of ten men, the will of the most stalwart warrior, and the temper of a rabid wolverine. And yet, Martha could be benevolent when it suited her. Unfortunately, it suited her so infrequently, that her parents called her “The Holy Terror” until her fifth Birthday. At which point, she became “She’sNotMyChild.” Eventually, Martha became “Katana,” the premiere intelligence agent of a Black Ops entity called, “The Shop.” Never heard of it? That’s okay. If you had, we’d have to kill you.

I need the strength to start eating again. Falling…I’ve been falling, spiraling, into the depths of starvation, loosing all my strength to pick myself up and carry on, slumping and trudging along with the weight of the world upon my back, watching silently, helplessly, as my tears drop to the ground. But I cannot think of anything else.
