Success. Is there even a definition? No. Because to each and every person success means something different. It could mean love, POWER, hope, reaching a goal. It could mean letting go. The AMERICAN DREAM is not what success really is. To some people, yes, but to me, no.
She wanted success. She wanted the fancy house and the white picket fence and the dogs and children. At least, she thought that was what she had wanted, but then she met him and all that changed. Success to her no longer seemed important, her success now would be getting him to be with her forever, to be with him forever. She knew that at the moment their eyes locked her definition had changed.
success is measured in increments of numbers, how many zeros at the end of your check, how many cars, houses, etc; i choose to mesure my success in numbers too: how many times i laugh until i pee everyday, how many times i leave work completely satisfied with my job
We’ve all had success in our lives, in inevitable. we may believe that we’ve done nothing all our lives, but hey, we were the fastest sperm. And I do believe that is some great, big, lovely success.
Sometimes I ask myself, what is the key to success? Over and over again I continue the monotonous routine of my classes, yet is this success? Will this lead to my success? Am I even succeeding? To me, living life to the fullest with plenty of adventures is my success.
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me.”
A dark and stormy trail, that which we walk upon, desperately seeking something for ourselves. Yet the farther we walk, the brighter the path becomes as we are renewed and look back upon where we have come and we see indefinitely that “success is counted sweetest by those who ne’er succeed.”
success today is just making it though the day, it was getting out of bed to walk the dogs and not letting myself scream, it was looking into my girlfriends eyes when i really didn’t want to, it is sitting at my desk at work and managing to speak coherent sentences and do my work and smile at people and hide the desperate disorientating fragmentation that i am feeling inside, success today is simply managing to exist without totally falling apart.
Getting where I need to go; not harming anyone else; being okay with myself as I am and everyone else and everything else as they are. I wish I knew what this really felt like. Feeling unsuccessful is particularly unpleasant.
