a torch is a way of seeing where you’re going. it can be carried around the world and through the arctic and through caves and underwater i suppose if someone figured it out. torch can be a verb and it kind of sounds like teach, which is a funny coincidence. it also sounds like scorch. scorch the front porch with a torch.
I think of light and fire and the way we used to use these things as light bulbs – but portable. A portable light bulb that could catch your clothes on fire and burn you – so not very practical – but powerful. If you wanted to illuminate something you had to think about it.
torch is a lamp, a lamp which is shining bright! or it can be fire on a stick, like in the old days, when the people had no electricity! Yes that is a torch. sadly i cant find my own torch, i would love to find it, but its gone and the only one i have went out of battery!
and i lit up the torch, i can clearly see it now.
the attic is full of dust covering up the things he left behind.
Am i allowed to be here, i asked myself.
I put the torch by an old table, slowly and walked towards the only object that was covered by a cloth.
the light was bright. she held the torch in her hands as she walked down the spiral staircase to the dimly lit room. it was small and cold but the torch gave her a microcosm of warmth. she looked at the man sitting at the table and thought of her father.

I lit a torch on my way through the cave. Skeletons lined the walls, and I feared for the safety of my friends. Wandering through the cave, I felt myself losing hope that I would ever reach the way through this seemingly neverending tunnel. Unfortunately, my instincts proved to be correct, as always. I would soon find out just how intuitive I was.

The torch was lit, but it only brightened a small part of the room. The power was out. Again. Didn’t Mother Nature know she was tired of these storms? Night after night she sat in the basement “shelter,” to keep safe against the heavy rain and strong winds.
The entire room was lit up by torchlight. Rem suppressed a shiver as she walked slowly across it, hearing the echo of her own footsteps and the beating of her heart. This was the sort of place kids shouldn’t play, she thought. But if she went back now, the others would laugh at her for the rest of her life.
hold the flame higher so I can what we’ve got here. a stowaway eh? give him bread and jam and execute him in the morning. it’s the only way. consider this your last supper young laddie.
in my heart, I feel every inch of me beating. I can’t believe I saw you and didn’t say anything. Please don’t call me a child. I want to talk to you. Light my torch and I’ll light yours. Please just give me a chance. I know I grasp on to things I’m unsure of, but I’m sure of this. Why else would you say those things to me. My heart is still pounding like lightning and thunder.
Torch lights the fire. It’s the small fire that makes a big fire when it comes in contact with fuel. It can create a good fire that warms us or it can eventually destroy things if it gets out of control. Torch would be a good name for a product or rock band.
fire. someone is running with a torch in their hands screaming “they’re coming!” and others begin to panic. there is chaos everywhere and as the people who are not welcomed are running through the town lighting it on fire.
he ran and ran and ran. he ran like he was going to die, and he was. he hurtled towards his death, with a light in hand, and that light, he passed on to the next person, and he fell apart and died.
She carried a torch for me all these years. I’m shocked really. I never knew she even liked me back in college although, clearly we had all the same classes and therefore the same interests. To find that she had named me in her will was a total surprise.
The torches burned bright outside of Derek’s window. They had found out his secret; they had found out he was a cannibal. Shit was about to go down, but all he could think of at that moment, was the delicious almost chicken like taste of the man’s flesh.
the rough twig sizzled slightly. Swirls of light along my retina in the night. I should be putting out this fire instead of playing but my marshmallow burnt and the streaks were so lovely.
I wish I could torch everything I worry about it, just light it on fire and never be consumed again. I wonder if the more worrisome items would burn brighter, hotter, longer. I’d watch them with a zest and zeal at first and then, slowly, with acceptance.
The name of an interesting album that I just heard some stuff off of. A combination of Margaret, Conor, Maya, and Free on iTunes. I always love discovering new peoples’ music taste – it tells a lot about them. I mean, a lot of people are that faux-hipster type that takes pleasure in being so obscure. Kind of like Conor. He is so hard to figure out.

Olympic torch. Torch the house. Torch, a song by The Sisters of Mercy. Blow torch. I think in some countries they refer to cigarette lighters as torches. This is a lame post. If it weren’t digital, I’d torch it.
shook your head, and Frankenstein carried a wooden torch to his Doctor, he said that he was feeling better and that the medicine made him feel warmer, such is light…
