  3. Everything in life is a trade-off. You get what you give. You get consequences for your actions, you get money for your work (although usually not enough), you get praise for your kindness, and you get scorn for your misdeeds. One exception is that sometimes you give love where it is not deserved, and you get love when it is not wanted, but sometimes, if you are lucky.. and in the right place and the right time.. Love meets in the middle. And that is the only trade you will ever need.

After watching both of these in an open-mouthed stupor, I read the commission reports, then the list of calls that loved ones got from the victims of the terrorist attack. I have no idea why I was so fascinated with such tragedy. Even a very small part of me wished I was there.

Strange and his friends offered their gold, and I, in turn, place the yound man on his knees in front of them. “Sorry,” I whispered, “but if she’s going to survive…” He looked back at me, eyes mournful. It was at that moment I realized that this was wrong, but it was too late.
