  5. i used to live in new york and i would ride the train al the time , it stank or stunk ; it smelled really REALLY BAD ! i saw rats everywhere ; they were kinda cute . i would always be frightened that they might get ran over by that pissed on subway train . oh the things i saw were very depressing . i couldn’t determine why most of these things happened . people were shameless . once i saw an african american man and an asian woman holding hands and an old white man boarded the train and spit on them . i gasped . ‘wow’ is all i could whisper to my quiet mother . ‘what ? because we’re an inter-racial couple you’re going to spit on us ? karma ; it’ll get you . just watch .’ and the small asian woman turned around , clenched her lovers hand even tighter , and gave him a big kiss . the old white man just smacked his lips . that day i learned that i don’t have to follow the crowd and be everyone else’s idea of ‘normal .’ that’s so not me ! you can’t change me . this is who i am and i don’t give a train what you think . no one can change me ; not you , not my mother , not the principal , not the president , no one . why people do things like this is not on my mind ; it’s rather what have they gone through to make them act in that manner .

  8. I hate trains. Well, to be clear, I hate trains that run longer than 4 hours. I just can’t stand it! Especially when the cushions are labelled “comfort”. They clearly have no idea what they’re talking about. If you’ve ever sat on a train for 22 hours then you know what I’m talking about. Constantly adjusting and readjusting yourself in the vain hope that you might be able to sleep for a period longer than 10 minutes. trains? no thank you.

  13. I was with my best friend when I fell asleep on a train. She was in the seat across from me, and I had my head against the window. The rhythmic sound and rattling soothed me somehow, and eventually my eyes just drifted shut.
My whole school was there. I woke up to the principal running down the aisle between the seats, yelling for a doctor.
Somebody almost died on that trip. Someone I knew well. My best friend almost died in her sleep.

  16. Trains are fast and exciting. If I could run away, I feel as though a train would be something that could and would take me far away from where I do want to be right now. It’s rapid and fast, and thinks about nothing in it’s path–just goes without even a necessary motivation. It is relaxing.

  37. I never really ride on trains, but it seems like you lose yourself when you are on one. No one really talks, and you just people watch and forget about who you are, at least I do that. Trains are pretty cool though because it is cheap but you can get places so quickly. I guess trains should be more spread out to the west coast, I would use them, it can be fun.

“My brother comes home drunk every night and beats me: that’s why i have these scars.

My dad rapes me: that is why i never let anyone touch me.

My mother never stops them: That is why i will never be able to trust anyone.

This is the shit i go through. every. fucking. day.

Your telling me i have no right to say what i say,

because what you call fake and attention seeking,
