Julius stepped outside. “What are you doing to my dog?”
Lorelei rolled her eyes. “Making her fat. Look! She’s doing a trick for me. Sit!” And she waved her hand at the dog.

Best Friends Forever, pinky swear, never tell a soul, the special bond you think you have. But how special can it be if it can be lost so easily? Was it ever there to begin with?

    by Molly on 06.05.2012

  7. Treaty. Peace. Seize fire. No! Dumb. That’s not what treaty means. A treaty is a deal or some sort. Oh, gosh. I need to review American history, this is pretty pathetic. I was going to use treaty in a really poetic way.

    by YellowBird on 06.05.2012
  8. treaty is what we learn about in history class. treaties are the things that end wars. they help us solve our problems and come to agreements. but treaty also means unity between countries. the treaty of versailles. i always spell that wrong so who cares.

    Just this peace.
    Nothing more.

    I’ve

    it will end the pain
    too.

  10. signed a treaty broke a treaty rescinded a treaty and entreated my ally to resign a new treaty. Treaties are the formal expression of our wants at the moment but moments change and wants change. Who signs a treaty in real life? people don’t sign treaties; organizations sign treaties; countries sign treaties. not people.

  11. treaty between two lovers, one gives in, the other will dominate. why? wasn’t their treaty suposed to bring them together? guess not…they never really do. the one who gives in just lies there, and the dominant has finished. he is so disgusted with himself that he would not have been able to imagine pulling the gun from his bedside table and pointing it towards himself as he takes a last look at what he has just done.

  12. i guess a treaty would be what i expect from you. I think about you all day, and you talk to me all day. but it is natural. i never imposed it to you, but you did so yourself.

  13. the treaty of two lovers, one gives in, the other just lies there. why? was there an argument that took place? what happened? the one who gives in, gets up. the person cant imagine that he would ever pull the gun from his bedside table, as he aimed it at his head and took a final glance at what he did to his lover.

  14. I’m giving in. I can’t sit here and tell you whats right or wrong, or even where i’ve gone wrong. I’m coming to terms with myself, I’m making a treaty with my mind, one where my mind will stop giving up on me, stop torturing me, and let me think things through completely.

  15. its all a lie :D there was no treaty at all , they just lied through their teeth .and so on the day went on no one suspected them.

  16. Do I have to write about a treaty of all things? I refreshed the page twice, and it still comes back to this one word. All I think about is old wars that I hardly know about. What am I supposed to write? Meh.

  17. A treaty, isn’t it just another written agreement. Doesn’t it mean so much because of the truce behind it that two or more people make? Not just people either, but whole countries. Countless times treaties have been broken and still they are made, and made, and made until one counteracts another and war strikes out between the world. Has anyone got examples? The word treaty in itself seems so friendly. A treat is something that I enjoy too much of everyday. Now as I sit here and gaze upon this word all I can think of is the icing I ate with a spoon a half an hour ago. I’d never break a treaty with such a delicious treat as icing. No sir. So there is a happy ending: not all treaties are broken but in fact, some are honored until the end.

  18. It simply reminds me of my high school history class. How many treaties are there in this world? It makes me anxious for my time to come. My time in NYC studying more treaties. Becoming more familiar with the world around me and its marvelous history, so I can help protect and guide its future.

  22. Signed a treaty
    Between my heart
    and my head
    But it wasn’t upheld
    By either side
    For my heart ran away
    With silly dreams
    And my head
    Would only condemn

  24. there’s always a treaty. always a way out. there may be no human/mind capacity to accept a fair treaty, but there will always be a non violent approach to prosperity, happiness, and the free will of the inhabitants of planet earth, but there will not always be the ability to accept the non confrontational.

  25. Treaties seem like false rules. Like commitments and promises that may or may not be kept. They are things we learn about in history class. To us, they mean nothing because it would take a mass of people to break them. Or maybe one powerful person. Treaties are things from the past, things we don’t have to worry about anymore. They are historical things that, to me, have no meaning.

    by Rebecca Blankenship on 06.05.2012
  26. A long time ago, you and me, we signed a treaty. You promised to kiss me every morning and buy me strawberries in the market. I promised to laugh at your jokes and do the dishes twice a week. The important things we didn’t write. We didn’t need to.

    by Alma on 06.05.2012
  27. Treaty. Agreement, usually ending in betrayal. Like love? Or like? Usually agreeing to be civil, offering one another things, gifts. Taking them away again at the end, changing your mind, changing theirs.

  28. He placed it on the desk to be signed and staring intently at the man that held all the power.
    “Please…”
The pen hovered over the paper, hesitant…

  29. so treaty.. what a random word to give someone to write about for 60 seconds. i dont really know about many treaties as i didnt really pay attention in my history classes. but from what i recall they help problems resolve themselves kind of, and sometimes they dont work. but ya know, whatever. this type of shit has nothing to do with the rest of my life, like why do i even need to take this class. why is it a graduation requirment. it should be an option. how is learning about a treaty going to help me become a doctor?

Me, forgive this offender, who invaded my land and covered it with blood to fulfill his own desires? It was hard to forgive. But my people could not take much more, so I surrendered and picked up the feather pen.

  37. Did you sign? Sign away everything you had because they told you it was the right thing. The honest thing. Best for you, your country, your people.
Did they say thank you? Your people, the ones you gave it all up for. Did they line the streets to sing your praises? Wave the same nondescript flags that mean so little now.
Now, you have no country. No power. No democracy. No people.

    What a shame.

And all because they told you so.

  38. A treaty is usually formed to resolve conflict between two parties. This doesn’t always solve the problem but it does try to prvent or end war when countries and governments use one. They are not always upheld but they are meant to promote peace.
