The cat batted at the ball of twine, it went spinning across the floor a single string being left behind awaiting a pouncing. The cat launched itself in the air and came down hard on the unraveled piece of string, it had caught it’s prey and was now ready to take it’s winnings back to its master.
In betwine times I was in a space that was so absurd one wouldn’t even tell another mortal soul because it could cause … well, one could be committed. oh wait. isn’t that ‘tween’ times.. when faeries and mortals play? whoops
Twine as in, together, as a collective we have become entwined? Or rather that which a cute, perfect little kitten plays with? Well, regardless of the actual meaning, both of the above interpretations share one thing, they are lovely, happy things :)

Simple. We’ll go to the yard shed, pull out some wooden stakes leftover from the garden work. I’ll take them into the house along with the balled twine, while you fish the scissors out of the utility drawer. Get a hammer, maybe a drill for the stubborn surfaces. THEN. EVERYTHING. DIVIDED. Your side / My side.
The twine sits there, taunting me. It lies motionless, like it wants me to attack it. Look at it, mocking me with its alluring lengths, all coiled up in a ball like that, ready to roll away the second I pounce. I wish I could resist its siren song, just once to walk away and not make a fool of myself. But alas, I cannot. I feel my hind legs tense, I center the ball of twine and spring into action…
