  1. They warned her that he wasn’t as nice and great as she thought he was, but his happy disposition charmed her. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t help falling for him. 3. “I warned you not to get involved with him.”
She said with the kind of ‘know-it-all swagger’ that drives me up a wall.
Who does she think she is telling me who to date? Like she really knows any better! Her last ‘regular’ beat her and left with half of our savings. The savings, mind that was going to pay for my college.
I wiggle my eyebrows to feign as if I’m interested in her pearls of wisdom. More so I just wanna hear how she’s going to ‘teach me a lesson’.

    She did, she did
    but she didn’t.

  36. Look both ways before crossing the street. Don’t play with matches. Don’t walk alone at night. Don’t run with scissors. Watch out for hot stove burners and pans when they come out of the oven. Things my mother warned me of. What I didn’t get told to watch out for were the things that hurt me the most. You’re going to get your heartbroken. You’ll be scared to fall in love the second time. You’ll end up hating your body because it isn’t as perfect as you’re told it should be. Food will become your enemy. And there might not be someone always there to rescue you. That’s what I should have been warned of. But, some things you have to learn on your own and it will work out and you’ll realize that maybe someone won’t rescue you right away, but when you least expect it. They will.

Ignorant, vulgar parents.
