The area was cordoned off with yellow tape and flashing lights. Promises of danger. A place set apart by the law to keep the masses from tragedy, from carnage, from the remnannts of evil. An area that had once been little more than an uniunteresting stretch of sidewalk was now the unhallowed ground of newborn death.
I cannot get beyond that zone. The city has become a place where a person of my social position cannot rise above where I belong. There might as well be a gated community dividing the no-name nobodies and the fabulous somebodies.

They told me the other day that people have these things — sometimes people wish for them, too — and they told me that I didn’t really understand, and that I was suffocating you. I wish they’d told me sooner. I wish you were the one. But we’re wrong, don’t you see? What I want isn’t that, it’s just to be here, locked in your heart, between two lungs.
The zone is a place that has a spefic thong. I mean who knows what goes on there. My personal zone, quiet zone, who knows the meaning. The meaning could be anything and that makes no sense to me.

It makes me tense, I can feel it, in my chest, the pressure. My tongue feels like it’s swollen in my throat. I have personal space problems.
This is why I hate public transit.
