  1. Acoustic describes a certain sound, a musical sort of thing, not a rhythm, but still something with a soul, like acoustic guitar, the sounds of say a Bon Iver or such. It might describe something percussive, like timpani, or some other instrument, drum, the inner ear, transduction of sound.

  8. there was always a guitar in his hands. On his back. A long strap sliding down his neck and around the shoulder blades kept the instrument from hitting the ground when it wasn’t safe in his arms. I always thought he didn’t need the strap. I wish that guitar fell out of his limbs and hit the hard ground in front of him, in front of me and everyone else.

  17. i already wrote about acoustic. :/ i wrote all about acoustic guitars. but i didn’t think it was worth submitting so I hit back. obviously someone really wants me to submit it for some reason. Part of the reason I didn’t send it is b/c I never heard the bell, because I have a hearing loss. And coincidentally, I remember learning the word acoustic at the library when I was doing research on hearing loss at the age of 7.

  22. when I think of acoustics I think of beautiful sound, like the sound of an acoustic guitar. It’s sound is the most beautiful compared with the sound of the technical and electrical sounds of this generation of music. It’s beauty is often forgotten but hopefully will continue throughout the years.

  36. Acoustic makes me think of music, of guitars. Guitars can come in two forms – acoustic or electric, where they are plugged into an amp and the vibrations of the strings are amplified. Many people wish to learn the guitar. Rock stars are often portrayed with guitars. Acoustic can also mean music.

  37. the music played, none of the new electric nonsense, just the beautiful acoustic sound of a violin, viola, and a cello. it was truely beautiful. i began to cry, just a bit, because of the power of this music to remind me of my past and of the pain he left in my soul

    by Alana on 04.18.2011
  38. The sound of the acoustic guitar reached my ears, danced around my eyes, through my mind. There was nothing more beautiful in the world, nothing I would rather listen to, imagine. Strumming my fingers against the strings is what keeps me calm in my worst moments.

  39. The acoustic guitar was my Christmas present. I spent the months before in breathless anticipation, constantly asking if I was going to get what I wanted, pointing out guitars in stores so I could describe their good and bad points. I got my first Killers CD that year, and my first Blue October CD. I spent a day in the hospital and a week home from school that year, on the brink of death. That was before I had my heart broken, but it was when all the madness had started. I thought that little guitar could save me, the way musicians praised their instruments and referred to them as saviors. I held the guitar, tried to play a song, and cringed at the ugliness of the chords I failed to play. It stayed in my closet for years, just a fragment of my myriad of broken dreams.

  40. this is the sound that comes from a guitar or an instrument. its the cords being used and anything else that brings out the sounds within the instument. some acoustics are better than others depending on the instrument and quality of it.
