  2. I had decided. This was it. I had to adopt a weird habit. I was too normal. Too plain. From my plain brown hair to my plain brown eyes. Plain Jane. That’s me. So, I decided to change something else. I’m going to take up a weird habit. Like collecting gerbil figurines or crocheting one sock that has no match.

  4. an attitude is what i usually here. you’re adopting an attitude. well, no actually. my attitude is a result of true emotions, not something i am taking in from some outside source. i own my ‘tude. it’s authentically me, and has a good reason. at least the reason always seems good to me…

  7. I thought I could adopt Errol Flynn’s debonair attitude. I watched his swagger, his nonchalance. I couldn’t pull it off. The Robin Hood tights didn’t help.

  10. Adopt. I adopted your love. I needed it. You ran away though, and then you adopted her. She was always so much better, wasn’t she? Better than me? Better than US? What we were, what we are, what we could’ve been. You stopped it right there in that instance. Funny, I thought you said we would love eachother to infinity and beyond.

  11. I want to adopt a puppy and save him from a bad home. I want him to be cute and white and fluffy. I want to name him Theodore. I want to take him for walks and play at the park. I want to teach him lots of cool tricks. Adopting a puppy is better than buying one from a pet store. You get to rescue a helpless animal and give him a good home.

If only I could run as fast as a speeding train, a racecar of fear. I am afraid. Who are these people? What do they want from an eight-year-old boy with a speech impediment? I can’t even bring myself to ask.

    One of the proudest days of my life … the day my husband adopted my two daughters. I didn’t really know what to expect in family court. The judge. Our attorney. Taking the stand. Pledging that my husband will make a GREAT daddy for my two girls. And he pledged, too. And we became a family with ONE last name.

  38. Friends of mine had plans to adopt a puppy; actually they still have plans to adopt a puppy. Even more clear, they have plans to adopt another puppy. Puppy #1 turned out to be more puppy than they could handle; seriously, don’t you think that would indicate that maybe they are not adopt-a-puppy people?

  39. i am not adopted. I like to adopt animals from animal shelters ,but the last animal i rescued, had, well, issues, and attacked somebody… well anyways, onto a happier note, i like cheesecake, it is my favorite food.
