  3. Those who have walked the hallowed halls before you. Those who have been in your shoes, have the memory to see where you’ve been and the wisdom to know where you are going. They were once you, and soon you will be them. It is a circle, unending.

  9. Ahh such an important word for this time in my life. In a few months, I’ll be a high school alumni from Brea Olinda and in four years, I’ll be a college alumni from whichever school I choose. I’m currently in charge of making the biggest decision of my life, which will not only change my life and change me, but it will also affect what kind of alumni I will be one day.

  12. My sister is graduating in May and I think about our life growing up. Our childhood. She always told me what to do and I liked it that way. Gosh, we had so much fun together. Now she still tells me what to do and I hate it. I want to be independent. I want to be my own person. I’ve tried and she tells me she doesn’t like me that way. I want that to change somehow.

    by Grace on 04.09.2011
  13. In the near future, I will be a UNH alumni. It will be time to move on to bigger and better opportunities. Life is all about wandering the earth in search of your purpose. And all you need to do is move on from the place you temporarily call home.

  14. the party was great except for the Roseville High School alumni that showed up. I mean, come on now its a highschool party, stop reliving your glory days, you just graduated last year and go move on to bigger and better things. Like college. Ugh, i hate burnouts.

  16. We joked about which alumni would show up and how different each one would look. Do werewolves get grey hair? Does the zombie decay into bits and pieces on the floor? This should be interesting!

    by Selena on 04.09.2011
  17. i received something in the mail today from my high school, inviting me to the retirement picnic of one of the oldest teachers. it’s strange, i am almost two years out of there, and i still don’t see myself as an alum. i don’t necessarily see myself as a student still, but certainly not an alum.

  18. alumni? again? what the heck, said the overburdened internet guy. I need some new words to write upon. As he drank his budweiser, he said, give me my short ribs, you socialist bastard.

Sweet socialism. It gives me beer care…for free!

    by Mr Awesome on 04.09.2011
  19. The alumni of the Dead Prose Society drank a lot of beer. So much beer, the store started stocking their favorite brand in copious amounts.

    Ah, sweet beer.

Dead Prose flows better with a tall, cold Budweiser.

    Spare ribs!

  20. ALUMNI:another anomaly with time is space travel.one day could equal 1000 years, and 1000 years could equal one day! scientists called is the theory of relativity. people of faith call this god’s time.

  21. Alumni. Alumni. Alumni. Alumni. Alumni. Alumni. Alumni. This word sound weird once you say it a few times in a row.

  22. The word simply means to be from somewhere. You’ve had that experience of a certain place, and certain event. You have knowledge on the subject. One in this position should be respected. The plural of alumnus.

    by Brandi on 04.09.2011
  23. Crazy. Pressure. Sizing up each other. At reunions. Well. But as an alumni of my school and my orgs, I am proud. As I look back, I see them grow, except my… defunct High School.

  25. I hopefully will be one. It seems like a vague concept, like the “alumni network”. I envision them all connected with little threads, or maybe by the key lanyards we have. Arizona State. Stretching across the world. But, it’s neat. It means you finished, you graduated.

    by cassie on 04.09.2011
  26. the people that are supposed to give a lot of money to an organization/school because they once went there and survived enough to finish slash leave that organization. and this is a really, really boring word. why couldn’t it be about cake? i could talk about chocolate cake with its gooey chocolate ice cream coming out. anyway, there are a lot of alumni events and they get cake.

  27. Cans are good to reuse or sell to a place for a little money not much money life isnt all about money anyway if is about God.God helps us every day of our life. We have to find our way to God even though we have our ups and downs.

  28. the people that you want to be but when you get there you know that it’s no good to be the alumni of anything, because then it’s over and you’ve got no place being at the place you’re an alumni of. and once you’re an alumni you realize that alumni’s are no more wise or smart or cool than non-alumnis, and that you’re just older.

    by alexandre polise on 04.09.2011
  29. Alumni? Really? What kind of word is this? Worst word choice ever!

  30. I am an alumni of three schools; Ann Arbor Hills, Lenawee Christian School and Tappan Middle School. That’s right, I’m in high school. I have two long years until I’m an alumni of something people care about. Awesome.

  34. Alumni… wow. I knwo one can be an alumni of many different groups. But I cant help but feel out-of-the-loop, so to speak, that I am not an alumni of a university.

  35. alumni of life

    Now college is over,
    I feel no success.
    A masters graduate,
    having passed all the tests.

    Though,
    My tests are not over,
    my trials merely begun.
    The exams of life,
    are far from done.
    Life hasn’t finished,
and I am far from having won.

    but…

    when I reach heaven,
I will be alumni of life.
    fulfilled by my destiny,
    and survived by my strife.

I will bow before my goddess,
    and she will see.
    That I have done all,
    that she’s asked of me.

She will then grant me eternity,
    and I will be,
    alumni.
    Forever free.

  36. The heavy door swung shut, the dark wood blending into the walls of the dimly lit room. A small group of men stood together, trying not to fidget with their heavy cloaks. Only broad chins were visible, and the newcomer swallowed hard as they stepped under their gaze.

  37. I looked aroud to see if I could find her, it had been years, I final recognized her initials, her favorite flowers lay proudly by her, the as I put my flowers down next to her I said a quick prayer and walked solfully back to the graveyard gates, her memory kept to live on forever.

  38. we’re all alumni of that same old place — the funny thing is, I’m not quite sure I want to be. When I look at your pictures, your faces and know that all you’ve done is know each other — I think I’ve grown beyond that.

You all care about the same things, look the same, talk the same, do the same things, date the same people. Don’t you get tired of people? Aren’t you sick of just being an incestuous group that feeds off of its own superiority? get your own life, and stop letting the world around you define it.

  39. To be an alumni is to be apart of something greater. Your involvement becomes a part of the history of the place. You helped change and shape and it did the same for you. As an alumni you get to be a part of the heart and soul of something, a place, and activity. It stays with you and you stay with it, a shared history.

    by Anna on 04.09.2011
  40. I’m a 10th grader, and some day when I become part of the alumni at my school, I won’t give my money to them. Because we’re supposed be successful and do things with our lives. How are we supposed to do that if we give all of our money back to our school?
