  1. she loves autumn. she loves the way the leaves fall like parachuters to the dusky concrete, the way the wind whips through her hair on the whistles of the wayside, the crisp air she inhales love and exhales hate, the feeling of cold water sluicing through her eyelashes as she peers through the rain; she loves the apple spice ciders she makes in the evening, and the long bike rides through fields of grass, and the setting sun burning a pastel orange into the sky–and watching the autumn leaves fall to the sound of soft jazz, she can’t help but love the world.

  2. the sweet smell is in the air
    scarves
    snuggling
    cuddling-god, i love you.
    i cannot get enough
i just want to live in your arms
    everything has love in it
    everything
    absolutely everything
i’m crazy lost without your arm wrapped around my shoulder
i’m just counting the ways to where you are
so i can feel like someone-when your arm is around me
    it feels so nice.

  3. falling leaves, bright yellow and green. Summer is over but still lingers in our heads. The snow and cold is yet to come. Full of possibilities, as the end of the year comes closer.

    by Jill on 11.07.2011
  4. I think when she fell, it was with the sort of grace that leaves have. When she left, though, that was when things crashed and began to rot around me.

I can’t describe the sensation. I truly cannot begin to describe painted skies, the feeling of everything falling asleep, falling to slumber. The rain, the wind, the soaring, and inevitably, the ending. Nope. I have no words for that.

Oh, to have the taste of Summer again! But she is behind us, and it’s just me now. Me, with her, and then something else. Something else off in the future, and it is cold.

But perhaps that is just my own bleak outlook.

Maybe we’ll have one more day of sun ..

  5. school. that is my first thought. seeing all your friends. starting anew. but i suppose it marks the pre ski season time….mostly autumn is waiting….waiting to ski, waiting for the holiday season…just….waiting.

  6. the beauty of the color the picturesque of the sunset
the crunchy leaves awakening your senses
as they fly away from the trees to start their adventure
walking through a chilly path that can lead to anything you believe in and the leaves fly away as a start to new life
the end of something that you don’t want to end but the beginning of something better
the lost love has blown away and you want them back but another will come your way
one leaf lost is nothing when all of them will eventually fall ending their once togetherness and soon finding each other again.

  7. Well, it’s autumn now. Officially. I’m too sensitive to autumn and its coldness. I went outside dressed in a winter coat, scarf and a heavy sweater and boots while everybody else was wearing sweat shirts and jeans. Womp.

  8. He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

  9. the colors change
    death
    decay
but also a chance for rebirth
only after everyting dies and crystalizes can it be reborn
    so falling leaves
    and whistling winds
    beautiful and terrible
    bite and rouge cheecks

    by Stephen on 11.07.2011
  10. Leaves are crunchy today. The best days always start with crunchy leaves in college, they make walking to class less grudging and more entertaining. It’s gotten to the point where I refuse to walk on the sidewalks; maintenance insists on clearing the leaves off of the cement, claiming that they’re a safety hazard or some other nonsense. Guess I’ll be off the beaten path for a while; who wants to follow the rules anyway? Crunch. Crunch.

  11. Yellow leaves, orange leaves, the smell of pollen in the air. Cool crisp air filling your nose, mouth, and lungs. A reminder of the cold chilly weather that is coming soon.

    by Halcyon on 11.07.2011
  12. the leaves falling. the smell of the broken leaves drift across the entire yard. i stay there thinking. thinking that the world will never live the way they are supposed to live life/\.

    by Anne on 11.07.2011
  13. Autumn is meant for country lanes with trees tossing golden sunlight about while you drive with the windows open. Autumn is meant for drinking apple cider to keep away the harsh chill of the night. Autumn is for glowing moments, smiles, laughter thrown casually into the air while you wonder at the change around you.

  14. red and orange and yellow and brown and the weather turning cold and the sky turning grey. I love the smell of fall, the secret noises on the wind and the crackle of a bonfire. Fall is the secretest, loneliest time of year, and the time when magic is everywhere.

    by Zoie on 11.07.2011
  15. ok.

  16. leaves are beautiful things. I love how they fall from trees and I just look and see my family playing in the freshly made leaf piles that my dad had just raked. Fall really is such a beautiful time.

    by bequia on 11.07.2011
  17. Autumn is the time of year when everything changes. Leaves give up their grip on the branches and fall to the ground, defeated. The air grows snappy and chilly, reddening my nose and drying out my hands. The sun sometimes grows shy and hides behind clouds for days and days at a time, only to peak out for a few minutes here, and a few seconds there.

  22. Autumn is also commonly referred to as fall. It is a time period where the leaves turn yellow with golden hues and the coldness and bitterness of winter slowly creeps its way into our homes, causing our fireplaces to light up with warmth and comfort. It is also a time period where starbucks re-introduces its famous holiday beverages that make little taste buds everywhere scream with delight.

  23. Autumn makes me think about the leaves changing and how much I love thanksgiving. Not only the food but getting to see everyone I don’t get to the rest of the year and general happiness that occurs around this holiday makes me think of a simpler time

  27. This is the limbo season when everything is walking the line between life and death. Dead things crunch under my boots, and dead things sway in the breeze, and dead things fall to dry earth; all under the orange glow of heaven.

  28. It’s treacherous this time of year. Pair up or split up. It’s when you decide if the person you’ve been tangled in the sheets with all summer should stay for the holidays. Time to get a little serious. Not my favorite time of year.

  29. there’s no feeling like stepping outside on a brisk fall evening
wearing but a chunky-knit sweater and jeans.
take a whiff of the crisp, dying leaves and
    campfires and
    spices and
    roasted turkey.
as you watch the serene sunset illuminate the multicolored trees
and let the wind send a refreshing chill up your spine,
    thank God for autumn.

  30. I always thought autumn was spelled with just one m, or alot and many so mmmmmmmms, you know just as when you bite that delcioius piece of cupcake and lick off the cream off your face. Mmmm mmmm mmm. okay, well probably not as gross. I think its a lot colourful you know :D byebye-fatima

  31. The leaves are ruby red and glittering golds. A young boy is walking his lab down the leave littered streets. The dog barks happily at the falling leaves. Autumn has always been a time for laughter and merriment.

  32. I lay there, quest and still. The golden rays of sun trickle through the read and orange leaves and make spots on my face and on the water of the small pond to my right. A light breeze blows through the trees and I listen to the rustle gently, whispering to each other. That’s when I see the note blowing through the air. I stand up and chase after it.

  33. this is a time where i feel comfortable against the fire place as i open a book and have a cup of cider. It is cozy and calming thinking the only place that I could be right now is inside watching the beautiful colours interchange and fall in small little leave from the trees as rain brings a chill and cool moment to hinder inside

Autumn is a lovely time of year. the trees are pretty reds and browns. this year, i played a lot of field hockey. the season went by quickly as did the changing of the leaves. now it is pretty and getting close to winter time. soon it will be thanksgiving. we have our school spirit week this week. i am very excited for this. i hope we win our home coming day and that we have a lovely dance. i just can’t wait!

  35. The trees turn the most beautiful colors you ever did see. Red’s, oranges, vermillion, crimsons, yellows, pales, tans, spots of green and brown, they play and work together, creating a symphony of color in perfect harmony. When you see these trees and walk through the crumbling leaves and they blow into your hair, you feel like you’re in a beautiful world.

    by Audrey on 11.07.2011
  36. The colours of nature all come alive, hot drinks are palatable finally, and it’s finally not too hot for pants. Outside is the best place to be; the brisk air and the beautiful scenery is wonderful.

  39. chilly breezes leaves change colors it gets colder people get sick the leaves fall off the trees there is nothing you can do to stop this change and we all have to deal with it

  40. fall, wow the leaves are so pretty. i remember seeing a screensaver with the most beautiful scenary of fall. There was leaves everywhere and it was just so beautiful. I wish everyday life was as pretty as it is in scenary pictures. Last year i took a picture of an array of color of leaves that could have been a professional picture. Fall is my favorite. So many family memories are involved, with thanksgiving, football, playing in the leaves, cute pumpkins. I love it. Even the name Autumn is pretty. I would name my daughter that. It just kind of rolls off the tounge. Autumn. Whenever i think about autumn i just think about the naked oak trees with its blank branches where the leaves should be. I think about all the colors of the leaves scattering the ground. Yellow, orange, brown, red. My favorite color of a leaf would probably be red, because the majority of the leaves are yellow, brown, or orange, and red is the most unique and vibrant. I love how the ground and the trees glisten with a light frost. I love having to get out your autumn clothes. You bring out all your cute sweaters, you wear cute jackets with matching scarves and mittens. Autumn is by far my favorite season.
