  1. A band makes music. Music is one of the most beautiful things on earth. While some is crude and some is bad, all music is liked by someone. All music describes at least one person at one point in their life. Music /is/ emotion. It’s one of the best ways to express yourself. Music means something different to everyone.

  2. I learned a lot in marching band. Not just how to walk and play at the same time without smashing my teeth in; I learned how to take responsibility, I learned most of my self-confidence, and I learned how to want something so passionately that to suffer for it is a beautiful thing.

  3. It was a simple ring, made of rope and wood. She couldn’t have cared less had it been made of diamonds and platinum. She touched the smoothness of the band and realized that every touch of the rope meant that they were bound together for eternity

  4. I was in band for nine years. It was hard at first, I chose the French horn thinking if I could play it, I could play anything. I couldn’t play it. At least, not for the first few years. Middle school is an awkward time for anybody, and it’s an especially awkward time when you throw learning a new instrument on top of learning a new body. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

  5. We were the Awesome Dudettes. That was back when dude was a cool word, and so of course dudette had to be cool, too. My dad let me use his electric guitar that had no strings (smart man). Angie played invisible drums.

  7. She hid the cloth in the folds of her dress and walked up to him from behind as he finished buttoning up his jacket.
“Please, Anton,” she whispered, clutching his sleeve.
“No, Gabrielle,” he replied, turning around and hugging her to him. “This is something I must do… for you, for me and for our countrymen.”
The tears stung her eyes as she nodded in reluctant acceptance.
“Then wear this,” she said, taking out the white silk band she’d made and tying it around his upper arm.
He looked into her sad eyes with infinite love and taking her face in his hands, he kissed her softly.
“I could never betray my blood.” He whispered “The tyranny of the Medici family will be brought to an end at all costs.”

Band of brothers I’m not even quite sure what that is about I love motion city soundtrack and have always loved them along with something corporate cause Andrew McMahon is a genius and a cancer survivor and I think he’s brilliant. Mr dandurand seemed like he knew nothing about what he was teaching and I actually loved the taste of brass when I played trumpet. Should’ve stayed with it. Tuba mouth pieces make lovely mouth pieces for the bonds we made. Sorry tuba players. You guys didn’t deserve that. Band band garage band and the movie almost famous. Elton John tiny dancer. 14. band could mean a number of things, like a group of people who create a musical symphony and harmony. It could also refer to a different group of people who always have your back….a band of friends. It always has a connection with teamwork and working together.

  18. When I was in a band back in High School, I really wanted to rock out and do the head bangs and all those things, but instead I ended up playing religious music for the school, and I have to say….it sucked. This wasn’t the band I wanted to join, I wanted to join those Metallica or Guns N Roses type of bands. The ones with the cool and charismatic vocalist, and also the cool solos. But instead, I became part of a gospel band.

  19. I don’t like boys in bands. They suck. ‘I’m in a band’ is never ever a reason to date somebody.

    by Ashley on 07.28.2011
  20. I always wanted to be in a band. You know, be the guitarest and all. But the thing is, I can’t play guitar. I can’t play any instruments really. I wish I could. It’s kinda a sad ironic joke. But hey, what can I do?

  23. The Script.

A band that I have come to love. Peculiar for someone of my type, but true. It’s not because I could relate to their songs or something of that sort. It’s just that I find something in their songs that just attracts me into it like it’s absorbing me in its warm melody.

In addition to that, unlike other bands out there, their songs are pretty much substantial and not just about some willy nilly love sick situation. It’s something near reality that, if taken in such a serious and deep manner, may actually bring you to tears.

I’m not gonna lie. I’m not much of a “band” lover, but, truth be told, I love “The Script”.

  24. and the band played on…despite it all. They never missed a single moment to fill the space left by people’s disgust. A few found themselves lost in something of a rapture…but the rest of us, just listened.

  25. The small band of gold was all she had left of him. There was nothing else. He was gone now, and there was nothing to be done for it. The other mourners, weren’t there because they had lost the only thing that made their life whole.

  26. I was once in a band. It wasn’t any ordinary band; it was a heavy metal band. Know, I know what you’re thinking. Why would a girl like me be in a heavy metal band? I know it’s crazy, but I’m one of these people who just has to experience. I have to do things, make my existence matter.

  29. A questionable band of men, my brothers. Each dressed in gray, each staring at the sky, each with a weapon on their person. I stood at the corner, watching them, wondering about familial rifts, if they could ever be repaired. And I reached into my pocket and withdrew my own weapon…

  30. The beautiful golden vision of the brass section filled my heart with a fullness and warmth. The marching band stomped by and the tuba rich with sound, rich with color filled my soul.

  31. I like bands. But i usually like single singer better. i don’t know why. my friends r in a band. it must be hard to write their own music and transpose it for several different instruments. but a band could be different than a music band. it could be a rubber band.

  32. I was anxious, nervous, as I stood outside the door to the auditions, hoping I could calm my nerves and not screw up. I could sing, I knew it, but what if someone else could better? I wanted to be a part of something bigger, one group creating something fantastic together.

  33. it was a terrible band playing. we left even before we finished our drinks. walking aimlessly into the dark with nothing planned was absolutely liberating. we chatted into the morning. the next day, we were thankful for the terrible music.

  36. The children lined up on the streets all turned their heads at the sound of the drum. The band was coming! The parade was starting! The kids all cheered, some pulling on their mother’s clothes to inform them, others being picked up by their fathers to get a better look. The pounding of the drum kept a steady beat while the trumpets blew out a unique sound. The children were absolutely delighted.

  37. Band. Banned.
I was banned from my band.

  39. my little brother has his own band. they’re not very good and i’m guessing they’ll break up before the year is through. i always wanted to be in a band, to be like my heroes, but i don’t play an instrument. i don’t really have time to learn and it’s not like i could go to lessons. my parents just want me to keep playing piano even though i’d rather have a guitar.

  40. Right now at 5:45 am in the morning I am listening to the band Chicago because a member of my Family mentioned that he had been listening and had been very touched. Also the word band reminds me of band of brothers not just the tv show but that is what we are as a species even if we don’t look like we act like it, we are all connect through that that lights our eyes to see the world and in that we are banded together to walk this world as one appearing as more than that. The band Chicago played some good songs with kind lyrics that you don’t hear so much anymore but I always imagine will come back around :o)
