He thought it was charming how the papa bird would stay with the eggs–and later babies–in the nest while the mother went out to find food. When our dog killed the father, though, we knocked down the nest with a broom and ate some very delicious dove stew for dinner.

  15. water is boiling downstairs in the kitchen. boiled eggs are a wonderful house food party addition. The hot water really burns and leaves nasty blisters. I almost fell down a hill today and my friend David got blisters on his feet from running with sandals on on rocky surface. Boiling water reminds me of a nice hot bath, but not too hot because my skin would burn off and that wouldn’t be fun.

  16. It was a hot summer night…boiling if you will. Storms in the distance. Rolling thunder. It was a Tuesday evening and the tribe was playing. All that was necessary for a quality evening was a good friend and a gourmet feast of chicken and garlic pasta.
It was the tribe versus the sox and a heated debate between the two clubs. The tribe came out hot stikeing first with a solo blast to right center field from Jason Kipnis. The exuberance of the commentators of the 1100 am radio station from the Cleveland announcers was ecstatic with the early lead in the first after the drawn out rain delay. It was promising.

  24. The boiling water. Bubbling and brewing, like angry seas in Poseidon’s domain, angry seas filled with horrific beasts and monsters preying upon poor sailors. That was the only sound in the apartment. Everything else was silent. The detective entered the room to investigate. He found, then, a discarded piece of plastic jewelry on the floor. As he entered the cramped living room, he then smelt the aroma of rotting flesh. Then, he entered the main bedroom. The floor was stained with blood, and there was the rotting corpse of a woman lying face-down on the bed.

  27. the pot on the stove keeps boiling over! Damn that power boiler! It’s so hard to make the twins lunch and worry about everything else- I shouldn’t have to worry about the stupid pot boiling over without warning! Seriously- It doesn’t even have a “little” boil, you know, those pre-boil bubbles. It just erupts!!! It drives me crazy and makes the stove a complete mess! Plus gives the twins something to giggle about.

  30. boiling. I feel like I have all these things bubbling up inside me, but when it comes time to spit them out, I just balk. It’s hard, because I like to be in control and this makes me feel trapped inside myself. Pretty soon it’s going to all come to a head, I know that. But wouldn’t that be better, though? Wouldn’t it be better for everything to come out in one huge lump than for it to come out in controlled bits, where I have to grit my teeth and just spit it out in dry, lifeless chunks? I’m all about the emotion.

  31. Boiling water. Steam rising up. Fogging the kitchen windows. I’m starving.

  32. Boiling water can burn your hand if you use hot water unsafely. Don’t be a fool when you play with boiling water…in fact, don’t play with boiling water. Use it only for important things, like cooking pasta and stuff like that. You would be a fool to play with something so hot and dangerous. An utter, utter fool.

  39. The only thing I could focus on was the boiling water in the pot on the stove. One thing at a time, that was how my mind was working now. I couldn’t focus on the small minuscule things like my mother coming down the stairs, or the creaking door opening in the gusts of wind. No, just focusing on what’s in front of me.
