  1. I feel like to many violence is the way we tame our wounds, but we need to be civil, they say. Calmer. Look our offenders in the eye and smile politely. Does it mean to roll over and forgive blindly, to let you win when they say we are restless? Well, it is true that I do rest less because what peace of mind is there with the ruckus and the noise and the apathy? We are never much good to ourselves at all.

  4. Civilization is a myth. It was created by those who wished to impose hierarchy. Wait, that’s a total lie. It was actually implanted through something called agriculture, which depended on the weather, the climate. Which explains poverty and riches and how they’re spread out over the word.   5. I did this one wlaready! It means to eat at the dinner table, open doors for old ladies, and keeping the noise down when in a public place. This is what civilized means to me.

  6. It is one thing to inhabit a country. It is something else entirely to civilize it. It takes gratitude and culture to civilize. Merely bodies to inhabit. Though those videos are capable of learning. They are able to teach and pass on that with they have gained to future generations. This would be the beginning of civilization.

  17. In a futile attempt to forget his past, James stuffed all his old photographs into the trash can in the alley. He lit a match and tossed it in. The pictures burned, and so did everything else beneath it. Most of it wasn’t James’ junk; whoever had lived in the dumpy little house before him had left a lot of garbage. Down the alley, smoke seeped out from beneath the lids of other trash cans too. This new town was a criminal hotspot.

  18. I once thought that people in rustic areas are harder to civilize than those enjoying their lives in the urban and suburban. apparently, i was wrong. it’s harder to civilize fools who believe they are civilized and have had enough of it already. who are you fooling?

  19. All they wanted to do was to civilize my people. What they didn’t understand though was that we didn’t want to be civilized by them. We wanted to retain our beliefs and overall sense of chaos. We liked it that way, and it’s what worked for us. They should just leave me and my people alone.

  20. Back in the days of the early U.S., there was heavy white interaction with indians. It was thought that whites had the natural job to civilize the indians. However, with their peaceful culture that respected nature, i’m not sure they were the ones that needed to be civilized.

  35. Civilized man is an oxymoron. He thinks it’s okay to beat in wife in private and peck her on the cheek in public. He devours raw flesh in the afternoons while drinking tea in pleasant company. The top hat is there to hide his headache. The bulbous pants are there to hide his boner.

    There is no point to acting civilized. We’re not civilized. We’re barbarians on leashes. We’ve always been the ferals being tamed.
